I can't believe what I just heard (not for the easily offended)

Referring to someone as a p***y on national television is not only inappropriate, but it is offensive as well. It wouldn't be newsworthy were it not.

It certainly didn't offend me. When Clinton was called a slimeball and various other things, that didn't offend me either. Perhaps you're just too politically correct. :)

p***y kicks ass. Bush is a p***y. Therefore through the communicative property Bush kicks ass. I couldn't agree more.

When our children's children's children are looking at their History Holographic desk Modules (ow whatever the hell the equivalence of a book will be) isn't it funny that they will find Clinton snuggled between two Bushes?

Bill Hicks had a great routine postulating that the Gulf War was a result of Bush Sr. being called "The Wimp President" on the cover of Time Magazine.

"Think that stuck in this guy's craw a little bit?

    Iraq: We surrender! We surrender!

    Bush: Not good enough.

Iraq: We run away! We run away!

Bush: Too little, too late. Call me a wimp... Come on ****ers! Come on!"

    Ah... Poor dead Bill...

I don't know if he was part of the administration, but Dick Morris has served as consultant/professional spin doctor for Reagan as well as Clinton. The guy is a “hired gun” with no sense of decency--pure and simple.

TJ, TJ, TJ, for a second I thought MM had come down on you too hard but realized "apologies" was one of the words you used.

MM, I don't agree with you a lot on your political positions-- I think because I often have different fundamental assumptions going in, but I pretty much always enjoy reading about your perspective and rationale for positions. And conviction on your part is not something I question either.

On the orginal thread--I don't have issue with those that take offense to Morris's comments so long as they would have taken equal offense at statements like Bill Clinton, what a damn sick p***y chaser.

But the difference, Major and Scar, is that no one came on *national television* and used the work p***y with reference to Clinton. Yes, many other references such as "womanizer", "liar", "skirt-chaser", etc. etc were used, but nothing 1) of the severity of the work "p***y" and 2) nothing of this severity on a nationally recognized show. This is vulgarity, it is obscene, offensive and completely inappropriate.

This is a very clear case of liberals defending an otherwise outrageous incident simply to mindlessly follow their long-ago determined political mindset. I recognize that I am a conservative, but I also can analyze situations with independent thought in an unbiased manner.

Oh, and Scar, nice manipulation of my quote.

Who's defending what was said? I know the first person you criticized for being a hypocrite isn't.

Agreed. I've already written to FOXnews to tell them to stop airing these kinds of attacks on the president.

Here's a NY Post column by Morris today. I guess the last paragraph is what he was trying to say last night. I can't figure out if he's working for a Dem or a Repub with that advice. Oh, one other thing--This just in: Dick Morris is an ass.

    Bush's Fall

October 29, 2002 -- JUST when control of Congress hangs in the balance, President Bush is losing the popularity he so desperately needs to gain control of the Senate and keep power in the House. According to the Fox News survey of Oct. 22-24, Bush's job approval has slipped to 60 percent, from 66 percent two weeks ago and 69 percent in August. His personal favorability has dropped to 62 percent from 72 percent in August.
For the first time since 9/11, Bush's job-approval ratings have dropped below those Bill Clinton maintained throughout his second term, even in the midst of impeachment proceedings.

The last time a mid-term election resulted in a partisan rout, in 1994, the auger of Democratic disaster was a drop in Clinton's job approval in the period immediately before the balloting.

Why is Bush in free fall?

    * Support for an invasion of Iraq has dropped from 72 percent to 62 percent in the past 14 days. Bush and his folks are so distracted by their diplomatic dance with France and Russia that they have fallen down on the job of convincing the American people that an invasion is needed.

    * Bush has been hit with a continuous six-month fall in his ratings on "managing the economy" - from 64 percent approval on April 30 to 55 percent on July 2 48 percent on Oct. 22.

    * By campaigning for Republican candidates around the nation, Bush seems to be undermining the case for a military emergency requiring immediate action against Iraq.

    * History may be repeating itself. When Bill Clinton returned from his successful trip to the Middle East in October of 1994, he found his job approval had risen 10 points as a result of his "presidential" image in negotiating a peace deal between Jordan and Israel. Determined to use that popularity to re-elect Democrats who had voted for his tax program, he immediately toured the nation giving political speeches.

The public soon forgot all about the "presidential" president they had seen: Clinton's job approval dropped the 10 points he had gained. The result was a 1994 disaster for the Democrats.

For their part, the Democrats have triangulated the war with Iraq, giving the president the resolution he wanted and thereby dismissing it as a campaign issue. As a result, it has lost its political punch.

Asked in the Fox News poll which issue "will be the most important in deciding your vote for Congress this fall" voters cited the economy (25 percent), terrorism (17 percent), education (14 percent), health care (13 percent), Social Security (11 percent) and Iraq at only 5 percent. Apart from terror and Iraq, all these issues have a sharp Democratic skew.

To salvage his chances of victory, Bush needs to stop campaigning, stop futzing with the U.N. and start to re-create a national sense of urgency about Iraq and terror in general. He needs to set a deadline by which time America will open fire in Iraq, and begin moving troops there to enforce it. He can then tell France and Russia to come along if they wish and lapse into irrelevance if they don't. The only good news for Bush is that his ratings for handling terrorism are still very high (67 percent) but the issue is losing its political salience.

Who was defending Morris. I said he is a man with no sense of decency. I was also pointing out some people are quick cry how outrageous character attacks on America's President are--when just a few years ago many of these same peoples were leading the character attacks. This wasn't pointed at you, I don't think you were on the BBS when Clinton was in office so how would I know what you said about BC nor whether you did/did not equally call out outrageous comments made toward him.

I thought you might like it. I apologize if my comment came off as belittling you, summarily dismissing your opinions, or overall throwing you out of your comfortable element and into the mindset of anger and rage, where you could make many mistakes I could successfully exploit.

I thought Fox News was supposed to be the pro-conservative channel.....how'd they let this thing air?? Especially that Hannity/Colmes show....it's so obvious (and I really have no bias either way) that the more right-wing Hannity runs that show and they put the weak personality Colmes next to him as an almost purposely intended poor wishy washy representive of the more liberal left.

    I agree with #1, #2, and #4. I don't see how it's offensive - at least it's not to me. Maybe you're just too sensitive. :)

He also did a lot of work for Trent Lott. That hair, the cheerleading... maybe Morris made an error in reference to his subject.:)

It's offensive to me because calling someone a 'p***y' shouldn't be an insult in the first place. p*****s are both nice, IMO, and rather strong. (You try squeezing a small football out of the end of your dick sometime and see if it survives.)

But that's probably not why it's offensive to anyone else. Just me.

I hope everyone has heard the album and title song by Bongwater called "The Power of p***y." It's an, um, inspiring song, written by Ann Magnuson.

No, I know the one you mean, I've read reviews, and it doesn't interest me. I hated the Vagina Monologues too (Eve Ensler needs to be slapped across the face with a big wet fish. Or given a lobotomy). All that faux-'goddess' 'mysterious power of the poontang' bullsh!t is a bunch of essentialist hooey. Humourless hippy bloody idiots. Basically, p*****s rock. But I don't need to watch a *play* about 'reclaiming' them, because I already *know* they rock.

    So, um, there's where I stand on p*****s. :)
