    I doubt he would say that if he planned on firing him. Hopefully Morey will now stop interviewing 70 candidates to kill time until SVG was fired.

    One less drop in the sea.

    Tough to fire guys you extended last summer, going public about it helps to stabilize the team, if there were any rumblings players know they'll have to suck it up.

    My guess is that even if Stan gets fired, because his contract doesn't expire until next year, they'll keep on on as a nominal "consultant," which means any team that seeks to hire Stan will probably have to give the Magic something for an agreement to release Stan from his contract.

    The same thing, I believe happened when Magic hired Stan while he was a "consultant" or something for the Heat after his firing. The Heat got a 2nd round pick or somethng like that.
