In all honesty thabeet has not had good coaching at the c position. Atleast in houston he has hakeem and carroll to grow him some balls.

If one guy has proven that he can constantly come back, it's Yao.
Therefore, I have no doubt he'll be back playing.
But, the question of course is, will he get hurt again? If not, and he stays healthy, his minutes obviously more meaningful.

HT, hard to say since we don't know who the coach is yet.
But, if he's smart, he'll give HT the RA treatment...the bench.

If it's Yao, no more isolation plays. Yao should just work on being a decoy and passing and scoring for Yao should be catch and shoot or make a quick move to score. No more isolation please. I will gouge my eyes out if I have to see that ever again. Yao is just a passing big man that rebounds and becomes a cog in the paint. Emphasis is on passing and awareness.

Thabeet's career willl be defined this summer. IF he spends the whole summer in Houston, down at the gym, working with CD everyday, being coached, and IF he gets in a whole summer of work manning up against some former or current NBA player of substance (Hakeem hopefully), THEN he has a chance.

But if Thabeet doesn't spend the whole summer here and he just practices for two or three days or sporadic days or he spends everyday "training" on his own.....he has NO CHANCE to be a player for us and he is trade bait.

    How about equal? Starting lineup:

    Lowry
    Martin
    PPat
    Thabeet
    Yao

No team will make a layup or get a rebound. :p

That's just bad coaching. Why wouldn't you pull them out once they were in foul trouble? ;)

even Bill Walton was able to come back at some point and have a productive year with the Celtics. I think next season will be that year for Yao, maybe not as a starter but I think he will get himself into the rotation and stay relatively healthy.

    At least that's my dream!

This pretty much meets my thoughts. Although I'll also add that I'd be incredibly annoyed if we didn't resign Yao then he went off to another team and put up All-star numbers lol

I've seen Yao make free throws on a broken foot. I've seen him play with a stress fracture. I've seen him hobble around vs the Lakers in the playoffs. On the other hand, I've seen Thabeet get slung around like a rag doll by a guy with no ACL's. I'm going with Yao.

Wow, Yao leads the poll. I don't know if I should be surprised. I thought MOST people had already written him off. But then, there are lots of Yao fans (not just YOFs) around here.

I voted Yao. But that may be more of a wish than a prediction.

I like how you refer to 'Clutchfans' the group of people, not 'Clutchfans' the site.

No, thats because its a low risk answer....Even if Yao hasnt fully recovered, or retires, theres still a high percent chance he still would tie Thabeet.......

I don't understand why most pick Yao over Thabeet... Even though Hasheem isn't all that great, he will at least stay healthy and play while Yao can't even stay healthy after a few games. Even after all the injuries and only played like 5 games in 2 seasons, a majority of people here somehow think Yao will magically come back and dominate like a superstar...

Right now, Im tired of seeing Yao's name in some of the forums. Im sick of all the injuries and the what ifs. Yao was an All Star player but that was then. Its time to move on. Most of the people here are still clinging onto the past. This team no longer belongs to Yao Ming anymore. Say what you wanna say but this team is run by Kyle Lowry, Martin, Hayes and Scola.

Say what you want to say about this team blah blah blah...This is a business and realize Yao Ming is a cash cow. Leslie Alexander would be a fool to let this man just walk away not even offering a vets min. If you are sick of hearing Yao's name well you better get used to it because he will probably be around for another 3-5 years or so.

More like the other team will feast on fast breaks like no other. 1-on-3's with Lowry as the 1 all game long.
