I recently got married and I no longer live in Houston, but we are coming in for the weekend to have a small get together with about 14 people and we want to have our own table in our own room in a restaurant in Houston. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions?

We are leaning towards Maggianos upstaris, but I haven't reserved it yet. Anyone know of a great place for something like this?

I'm not sure that you can reserve upstairs at Maggiano's with only 14 people. You should check with the 2 Fadi's locations on Westheimer (Dunvale & Dairy Ashford).

They have a private room that would be ideal for your count.

Treebeards has an awesome upstairs. And their catering menu goes well beyond their normal menu. My reception was there. The balcony overlooking Market Square is very nice, and then you have plenty to do downtown after. Looks like you need a minimum of 20 though.

Baba Yega's has a private room too.

Patrenellas near Wash Avenue is pretty legit, and has a small enough private room to accommodate your 14 ppl number. Not too expensive but really good EYETALIAN food.

Yao's has a couple rooms for that amount of people. "Yao's Room" is 12-15, I think, and features a plasma and a private bathroom.

Ruggles on Westheimer has a wine room you can rent. I think it is only like 75 bucks. There are two rooms upstairs. Both should hold 14 but the wine room is much nicer.

If you go to Flemming in the upper Kirby area. They convert an outside area into an air conditioned room that could hold over 14 people. It looks really classy. It is hard to explain how they do it but the material they use blocks out the road noise. I think there was a 1500 minimum. But that wasn't hard to make with 15 guys who all came hungry and thirsty.

Escalantes in meyerland has a private room but the Escalantes on Westheimer looks much nice. No private room but they can section off the back part of the restaurant for you.

For my rehearsal dinner, we rented a room at a place called Chatter's Cafe & Bistro. It's a rediculously stupid name, but the food was fantastic. He gave us a fixed price menu of 3 entrees of our choosing and I think it was as low as like $12 per plate.

It's medditeranean food and it really was excellent. Great service, too. The food came out promptly and it's a very nice room. Good central location too. I couldn't recommend it more.

Only downside: It's a beer & wine only place.
