As this is my first time posting, I'd just like to say that I've always read the posts here and that this is a great forum. Anyways the Rockets need players at the PF position. I know that this player plays is a SF but I think he would be a great fit with the Rockets and the running game. However, with the Rockets cap restrictions I am not sure if the Rockets could sign him. The good thing though is that he doesn't demand much and could help the team coming off the bench................ "According to the Milwaukee J-S, Darvin may be offered more money elsewhere. As expected, Tim Thomas will ink his name to a long-term contract with the Bucks thought to be around $10M a year. Ham, on the other hand, has been offered the $1.5M exception and is waiting for someone to offer him the larger $2.25M deal. 'I feel Darvin is very deserving of the $2.25 million exception,' Steve Kauffman, Ham's California-based agent, said Monday. 'Three teams have called, but no one has pulled the trigger. We expect something to happen in the next couple of days." Could the Rockets land this player and if so, should they?
I was considering posting on this. I'm not sure if we should use the 2.25 on him or not. He certainly wouldn't mind coming here, since he's a local (went to Texas Tech), but could we get someone better? ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
Darvin is 6'6" (he is listed as an inch taller, but I don't believe it), and I like Kenny Thomas better if we have to have a short power forward. Just say no to Darvin. ------------------
The reason I think Ham would be a great addition is because Ham would be an upgrade from the players that were on the roster last year. With the Rockets running game, he would be a good fit, plus I don't think he'd mind playing for the Rockets because like NIKEstrad said, he attended Texas Tech. He would be a good player coming off the bench at the SF position and could play some minutes at the PF in need be. But I wouldn't sign him for what he is asking but anything other than the $450,000 that he made last year should be enough. I honestly don't think that the Bucks will sign him to more than $2 million. ------------------
