You took the words right out of my mouth. The Heat still have less talent than LA, Boston, SA and maybe Dallas if Butler didn't go down.
i want lebron james to win the finals MVP, and then enjoy listening to some of these lines: "it's still wade's team just b/c..." "he can't win by himself... so this ring doesn't mean anything..."
You can never take a ring away from someone, BUT you can't win a ring by yourself. If Lebron ever wins a ring I hope you remember that Lebron didn't win the ring - his team did. This goes for Kobe and Duncan and Shaq and KG and Olajuwon and everyone else.
after watching the heat stumble early in the season, the cleveland game, all that HATE... and for the whole season? i want lebron to shock the world. i love basketball too much, hell i love nba too much to not root for the best player on the planet to win a championship. especially considering the rockets are out of the picture.
I'll root for the Thunder. Scottie Brooks was a bench player for the Rockets in their first championship run, so I gotta root for him.
I'm not really invested in any team outside of the Rockets, but obviously I've got some pull toward the Hornets and Grizz because of Landry and Battier. Also, you have to love the story of the Nuggets and Bulls/Derrick Rose/Thibs this year, but I think I want the Mavs to win (sacrilege, I know) just because Dirk is such a talent that I just plain feel bad for the guy not to win a ring. I don't care what happens to him/them after this season, but I'd like to see him get some recognition rather than add to his reputation as a choke artist. Despite how much he deserves it... I'd be happy with them facing the Magic or Bulls in the Finals. Celts have had their fun, Heat will have their time and need to be humbled just a bit longer, and Dwight has been really making some amazing strides this year. I wouldn't mind the Sixers doing some damage, but I just don't see it happening. I can see the allure of Phil Jackson having four three-peats, but no thanks to the Lakers winning this year. It'd be downright hilarious if they lose in the first round to NOLA; Kobe works harder than anyone in the league, but he's gotten enough rings.
OKC. They have Durant, a really likable superstar, and a hard nose group of guys. And an ex Rocket from the golden ages of Htown BBall.
Anybody but the Heat or the Lakers. If any of you guys have been to a Heat regular season game over the years you would know they have the worst fans in the NBA. Its a damn shame they got those players. Heat fans are garbage.
Nuggets all the way. It would be fun to see a team without a superstar get anywhere near the Finals / championship.
Cause I just moved here a couple months ago, Chicago. This city loves their sports more than any other city by far. The fans here deserve a championship as much as the Houston fans deserve another.
None. Since the Rockets are out. I do get somewhat happy when the Thunder win, followed by the Trailblazers.
I think the Grizz have the best front court in the playoffs. If they make it to the second round the only team who has the length to bother them inside is the Lakers.
