I noticed before 2005 the "time played" in box scores do not contain seconds, only minutes.

I also noticed that before 2005 there were only 2 box scores (both in 1989) that showed someone played "0" minute. (using basketball-reference.com)

So before 2005, what happens if a player played, say 2 seconds, would the box score show that he played 1 minute or say he played none (DNP)? If it's the latter, what if the player committed a foul during these 2 seconds? If it's the former, what if there were 3 players who played only 2 seconds, then the total minutes would not add up to 240 but 243 right? Or do they just subtract 1 minute from other 3 players?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you've got too much time on your hands.
