I would guess they mean trade and FA. Adelman hasn't seemed too happy about the moves we've made that didn't involve players he's coached before.

I would really like Adelman to stay but if he doesn't want to rebuild then an amicable divorce is probably the best thing. He's 65 and its not fair for Alexander and Morey to expect him to spend a season with a team that is building for the future. He's done a good job with young players like Lowry, Budinger and Patterson. Hopefully with that nucleus in a few years we can build up a contender.

no, i dont think so...RA is trying to play guys who give him the best chance to win....Les wants to develop players and push youth. Les will win here and hire a coach that agrees with him. That doesnt sund like retooling on the fly anymore.

It's always something with this team, usually injuries, now next year it'll be bad coaching or needing more time to adjust to the new coach's style. Once again, we'll come up just short because we didn't click until late. Thanks for messing up any consistency this team had, Les......

Adelman is 64. Of course, Scola was 30 about 3 years before he actually reached that age, so why should I be surprised.

(not really aimed at you, Sishir)

The Rockets PR machine going hammer and tong.

During the last game someone brought up the question on whether Adelman should be back. There was deafening silence among Worrell, Clyde, and Bull. All were turtles with their heads retracted in. Les does not want Adelman back.

If this departure is mainly because of Les then you really have to wonder if any good/establish coach would ever want to come to Rockets. First it was JVG and now its Adelman. The reason for both of these coaches leaving rockets are not very convincing. We got lucky last time that we got Adelman when we parted away with JVG.

Adelman could coach Heat or Knicks.

This is a good time to leave Houston.

    Oh well.

I look for the positives. At least this means a new era has finally begun and hopefully Les and his guys can get together to get a good young coach.

I wonder what this means for some of the vets though.

As Lance Z pointed out earlier this week, the first person the Rockets should contact is JVG. Just like our defense was good the first year and a half that Adelman came on board, I bet our offense has a good 1-2 years of holding up before JVG's utter neglect of it makes us a 15-20ish offense once again.

But for those 1-2 years we've got a window of having both great offense and great defense. I'm all for that.

Plus, JVG's a good coach at bringing discipline to a relatively lackadaisical team. Don't put any money on him playing rookies though.

I understood getting rid of JVG because Adelman was available.

I am completely baffled by this. Some explanation is needed because I have no clue what they are thinking.

No good coach would want to come to Houston after what Les did to three consecutive good coaches. All he can do now is hope to hit a jack pot on finding a gem young coach, like how Morey found gem young players. That is extremely risky.

Wait, there is an established coach that would come... Larry the Mercenary-stab-you-at-the-back-when-he-runs-out-of-his-welcome-in-a-couple-of-years Brown. I can't believe Morey would be stupid enough to hire Brown.

Oh, and for those who are hoping to get JVG back, think about this. If you were JVG, would you ever want to go back to work for Les?

It had to do with a healthy Yao. The D was also different to JVG. Adelman's D relied more on funnelling the ball carrier to Yao.

The Rockets would be stupid to get rid of Adelman. This organization has no stability whatsoever. We make a trade EVERY off season and at EVERY trade deadline. Now the damn owner wants to get rid of the one thing that has been a constant.

Les needs to be punched in the face...

poor alexander, so unpractical with his demands and willing to drive his team to the ground so he can satisfy his impulses.

Yes we get you own the team, just don't expect the fans that generate your revenue to sit pat and nod at every foolish decision.

If this goes down it would be "Maloof" style.

its not like the trades have been world changing either.

Management were the ones BANKING on Yao's health as the folcrum of the entire team yet the person who has to deal with THEIR mistakes is the one that pays every time.

Its downright disrespectful in every sense.

The implications of such a blunder are gonig to be more far reaching than the organization anticipates. On one side you have every damn player practically begging to keep the coach, and on the other you have the owner at odds with the coach.

I don't think they like Les enough to play above the bare minmum they have to, especially when we're notorious with player dealings as it is.
