Hakeem was at the Starbucks, on the second floor of the new downtown Randall's this morning. A woman in line walked up to him and said "don't I know you from somewhere"? My father-in-law looked at her in disbelief, and said "why, that is our basketball hero, Hakeem"! Hakeem looked embarassed, and said "thank you, you are very kind". The kid behind the counter was so nervous, he could barely take the order. Hakeem chatted with everybody in line as coffee was being prepared. Hakeem said he was "looking forward" to the "nice night" the Rockets had planned for him on November 9th. I have no pictures, and no proof- just a nice memory of a gentlemanly sports hero grabbing a cup of joe on his way home.
It is near Louisiana and Gray, near the big Spec's. It is nice, because it has an underground parking garage, so when it rains or is cold outside, you never have to go outside.
Hakeem like Robinson (SA Spurs) are 2 class Guys!!!! I think Ming will be also, not the Hot DOg that compromises most of the NBA!
