Does anyone play it? Ever since I stopped WoW, I've been trying to keep my MMO game time down to a minimum. I think a game like this with no monthly subscription wouldn't pressure me into having to every so often to keep up. Anyways, if you play this or played and have some insights, all will be taken :s
Guild Wars 2 is supposed to come out some time this year, so I'd probably wait for that. Looks pretty good, but I swore off MMORPGs after I almost failed all my classes. Those things are worse than drugs.
I played the original Guild Wars when it first came out and found it to be too linear and a WoW-lite of a game. Didn't like it at all. It may have changed in the years since then, but I haven't played it since then, so I'm unsure.
yeah I checked it out, looks enticing, trying gw trial out right now do they have servers that we choose like other MMo's?? trial doesnt let me choose anywhere
I feel you on trying to find another mmorpg to play. I played wow for about 2 years and got tired of the game and took a while off from that genre of games all together, but then that itch came back for it lol. I tried out Guild Wars and got the full collection thing, even spent some money on the costumes or whatever but i couldnt get into it. Long story short I gave rift a try and love it. UI is very similar to WoW which made it easier and quest layout and stuff is too. Its feeling my need for mmo crack and i bought a time card just in case i decided i shouldnt do it. I will also say i like the 36 classes(souls as they are called in the game) allows deep customization of character and rifts are fun to do. PvP is solid though i'm only level 29 so i havent seen all the pvp types. The last 2 weekends they have had this try out thing for free for the weekend. I'm not sure if they are doing it again but if they do i'll post it up on here and get you the code for a free weekend trial =)
sweet. yeah I got the same itch your describing. not trying to go back hard core but something to play and hang out on everyone once inawhile.
