This is EXACTLY the mistake the Kings made. They had Adelman and he was still getting good performances out of what by that time was a lot less quality then he had a few years earlier.

So the Maloofs fired him thinking about some hungry young coach!

They were stuck with Eric Mussleman! The loser. The moron. And started losing record numbers of games.

Out goes Eric and in comes another hungry young coach! Reggie Theus! Wow, he dresses so well and is so handsome! Another loser.

After seasons with these idiots, the team lost all confidence, all the momentum they'd built under Adelman was gone, they were back to being losers.

That attitude carries over even when they finally get a decent coach with Westphal but they are in such a huge, dispirited hole, that even he has a hard time pulling them out of it. Despite 2 Lottery Draft Picks, they still suck.

Yes, maybe someday they will turn it around.

But trust me, there is no hungry young coach who can come in and suddenly win unless you give him Miami, and even then he'll struggle.

    KEEP ADELMAN!!!!

Otherwise, this team will be doomed.

Can't say I like the language or the part about Westphal but I like the new perspective you brought.

I'm sick of hearing this. Adelman gives young talent a shot when they are actually... talented.

Jordan Hill had his chances. We all should know Thabeet is nothing special, at least not yet.

Adelman developed/is developing guys like Landry, Lowry, Brooks, Patterson, Ish, Harris, etc. So don't say he doesn't give young guys a chance. They just have to earn it.

Yeah, but had they not fired him they would have never gotten their hands on Demarcus Cousins, their franchise player. Adelman, would have kept that team a float and stuck in mediocrity.

Adelman is a coach you need for a team that is ready to win the hole damn thing. His not the coach you want when rebuilding a ball club and you need to get into the higher part of the draft to add a foundation to the team.

Exactly, he has a HOF coach, totally proven....is RA's fault that the 2 most expensive players, the 2 franchise players, got injured? As commented before, would you blame Phill Jackson for not making the playoffs without Kobe and Gasol?

In fact WITH KOBE Mr Zen missed the playoffs, so, why fans and FO are so easy triggered to put the blame on Adelman?

A HOF coach for an uncertain bet? That's how Rockets will improve?

Why not trying to get at least a tall Defensive C, if FO is so unable to get at least 1 superstar?

I was playing on the idea of combing Jeff Van Gundy and Rick Adelman.

    Who pissed in your coffee?

Another good point....Adelman let players flourish WHEN THEY EARNED IT....

Players become mentally thougher when they earn the spot, not when a 'young, hungry'coach gives them minutes, just because they are young.

Sounds like one of the names the coach from Rookie of Year would have spewed out there for Henry Rowengardner (sp?)

RA has done a great, great job given the roster and circumstances. Him and his staff do not get enough credit for developing the young players as well. Morey seems to get all the credit for making good draft picks. But I recall even Morey himself saying in an interview that Adelman and staff deserve more credit for developing the draft picks into servicable players.
The issue is the roster not the coaching...

We don't need Rick, WE NEED THE F'ING PRINCETON!

OUR PLAYERS HAVE BEEN RUNNING IT FOR YEARS, and that is how long it takes to learn. One of the few offenses where it could be possible to win a ring without a superstar.

If Les screws up our offense I will be super pissed.

    Budinger/Martin/Lee/Patterson/Lowry/Miller/Chuch are PRINCETON PLAYERS!

I am starting to think a new coach is on the horizon. Hopefully it is someone who has a defensive guru background. At least an expertise in training players in some sort of way before he comes to the Rockets. Sort like Tom Thibideau had a background of. Maybe someone from San Antonio would be nice? Mario Elie? Some young College coach who is hot stuff.

The only way to solve the roster issue is to have some bad losing seasons. Can Adelman give us just that?

    no.

Adelman ruined this season by winning.

No need to even look past the Spurs to make that comparison. There are plenty of young, hungry, defensive-minded assistant coaches that have come out of San Antonio.

    Keep Rick the Ruler!!

We are missing a defensive Center, thats all we need is a fearless rebounder and someone who can block and alter shots!

If not, we need a tough defensive minded coach, that also puts emphasis on offense!

The players we had thrived in Adleman's free-flowing motion offense, to get them out of that system won't be a travesty.

I loved JVG's defensive philosophies but hated the offense!

I love Adlemans offense but we suck this year defensively (lack of size).

There has to be balance if we get a new coach next season.
