and of course while lebron did some great business today, he lost on the court at home to the bucks tonight. He can probably just where his shirt 'check my $tats" afterward and be happy

Do you think the Lakers would have lost the last 2 titles with LeBron taking the place of Kobe?

I just want to make sure he wears the right hat and gear if he attends a game in person.

yea, you're not going to get the 25-7-7 lebron in a triangle offense, not to mention his bread and butter of driving and dishing is minimized in an equal opportunity offense, so it doesn't maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses. he will have bynum and paul in the middle which will clog his driving and you just won't see as an effective lebron and iwth that personell on that team, I don't think they win out. They will still be dangerous bc lebron will still do damange no matter where he is, but in terms of cohesiveness, you can't say for sure, but I say no they wouldn't. Lebron's commitment to half court defense is another big difference although he takes leaps on that this year, but just bc he does chase down blocks and gambles on steals doesn't mean he is great on that. Kobe knows the system inside out and he has aged considerable(he has slowed down in my opinion) and still they pulled out twice, but hoops works in mysterious ways and there are such things as stats that are detrimental to the team.

you could say lebron is so great of a teammate and everyone loves it bc he averages so many assists and passes it around ,you do realize iverson almost average 8 assists too, just bc you drive and kick doesn't mean you are making your teammates better, for some other players like dwade and bosh, its detrimental for them to sit around and watch and wait for the ball since you aren't utilizing the skillset, similarly bynum and gasol aren't catch and shoot palyers.

tehre are too many factors where you are trying to simplify to compare if you switch places who would win, but the above are all reasonable concerns i you know your hoops and xs and os.

outside of that to all them who call kobe a big cry baby, he does complain, that is there and it can get annoying. I still take it from lebron's antics on the court
From him taking 'pictures before the game', dancing in the middle of a blowout, he always puts himself above the law and never accepts being wrong. I don't think he lies on purpose, I think he is delusional that he can do no wrong, that he really must be some sort of king.

When he crab dribbled, he said it was his patent move that was legal, it was illegal and then the NBA changed it for him. Not to mention they changed hand checking after his rookie year(where he shot 3 percent more than adam morrison, yet still got every ball to help inflate his stats and force feed him from the beginning, even being named king before his first step on the court)

What about his number change? he says hes a student of the game so he changed 23 to respect mj(was he not a student when he first chose it?) and then he chose 6, did he not study the bill russell and Dr J class?

We know all the players are fake to a certain level, i mean it is only through media, but he pushes it to the point where he treats fans like they are morons to believe the way he talks and acts. Its a unique sort narcissistic behavior to where he thinks he is bigger than the game and maybe i think its more of the old school type of players and guys who like that sort of game that I notice just don't appreciate his antics and the mask he puts up or tries to put and always tries to bail out of it. NBA supports him in it and it is a damn shame.

I'll tell you a story coach K told me in NYC, he said when team usa came for a summer workout and kobe came in after not playing the summer before with injuries and just had averaged over 35ppg had and 81 point game so he was the big time scorer and big dog in the league. All the young guys(lebron, wade, melo) had their eye on him and kobe knew that. He spent the entire day doing defensive drills and shooting one shot, coach K said all the young fellas saw that and followed suit. Kobe came to him in a meeting and said coach, I know this is stacked squad, I just want you to promise me one thing, let me guard the other team's best player.
So kobe set the tone for team USA and made it a defense winning squad. We all saw in the finals when they needed clutch buckets to sink the game, once again it was kobe who took over and iced the game over.
meanwhile, you had lebron running around in every interview reminding people even when not asked that he was team captain of these great players.

I agree lebron is a special talent and I say that he is the best Fantasy basketball player today and puts up the best numbers, but if you realize the factors that go in to produce stats and how dependent tthey are and even positive stats can be detrimental to a team, there are just too many loose ends in that argument to deem him the best bc of that. I still go with my man kobe for his wins and I do also agree at 33, he is not in his prime but still a dangerous guy who i wouldn't bet against.

Lebron is a great basketball player, but every time he has an interview he reminds me of the dumb kid in my classes at school that tries and tries to look smart... But he isn't.

So does this mean that he's gonna hopping off the Yankees bandwagon and onto the Red Sox one?

Is that really your argument that he doesn't have a right to discuss his opinion on someone on a board where a bunch of fans are discussing pro basketball. So then should all of us including you not be on here unless we can play professional basketball and match these guys skills for skills?

That is just a ridiculous argument that is like telling all the guys who say bryant really isn't clutch to be quiet because you will never play like bryant yourself, no *****, none of us will and MOST of us never see that type of money or many of us won't ever dunk a ball hell, doesn't mean we can't discuss and talk about it otherwise you are going to have to say that in different ways to every damn post on here

Woah, easy there buddy. I don't think you understood what I meant by my post. He has the right to say whatever he wants and so do I. As you said this is a message board, we all have opinions, no prerequisites required.

I was just taking issue with him calling Lebron an idiot because of the way he talks. CCorn may think he's smart relative to the "dumb kids" he's dissing. Yet, compared to the gifted students in the world, he's probably the "dumb kid" to them. Lebron is among the top athletes in the world, he's at a level which these gifted students can relate to. He's special. So before CCorn thinks about calling a person a dumbass, he should consider where he stand in the world.

BTW I'm no Lebron fan, I just find it funny when people hate because it makes them feel better about themselves.

You are trying to say that world-class athletes must be smart?

You are correct that most of the people here will never see the kind of money Lebron makes in over 1000 life times. Neither would guys like Einstein or Richard Feynman. What Lebron makes in a single year is more than what 10 MIT professors could make in a lifetime combined.

I'm sure Lebron must be pure genius then.

You see, most people believe athletes are dumb and beautiful blonds cannot think. Both beliefs are probably unfounded prejudices. But you've made a completely opposite statement. You think athletic power has a positive correlation with intelligence. This really opened my eyes to the profound realities of a world I haven't seen before.

The only thing that kept the Celtics in last years finals was Kobe's chucking. with game 7 being Kobe singlehandedly almost snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

i wish more athletes invest their money like lebron is right now. lebron will be the next jordan in terms of power in the NBA.

people don't know but magic johnson is also filthy rich b/c of his investments. he didn't sell sneakers like MJ did but he got rich by investing his money wisely.
