I don't think Brooks moves that slow, even if he wanted to. He isn't a poppin n lockin hip hop dancer who can move in slow motion on cue. Pretty sure the video/replay was slowed down.

Exactly. That's why I said "anyone else." I meant anyone else besides me.

The replay was definitely slowed down. But the way he was running didn't look anything like sprinting to me... it looked like a casual jogging motion.

Another thing I wanted to point out is how he approached the ref right before he went back to ask for the shoe. Now why would he want to approach the ref??? Maybe because he was frustrated by the no-call. Just putting random thoughts out there. :)

this. he looks at the ref, then tosses his shoe and casually jogs back into defense. and i thought he said he was or would be working harder on defense...

Naik it is hard to run full speed when you only have one shoe on.

By the way, did anyone catch the Yahoo! link I posted right under the video in my original post? Pretty funny lol.
I should have put the quote from that article in my original post.

For you guys asking why he didn't go full speed back on defense, my guess is because he only has one shoe on and on the other foot is a ... sock. Running full-speed on an NBA court in socks probably isn't the easiest thing in the world.

Of course I could be wrong about all this and Brooks could be the second-coming of Satan. Grab your pitchforks - he's obviously on the road to death and destruction.

Actually, I believe I might be the only one saying he didn't go full speed back on defense... lol

So yeah, y'all win, I lose. The public consensus is that this is completely unrelated to his recent unsettling bouts of frustration.

But I will never let this go for as long as I live, and when you guys see Brooks suspended again or out of the league like so many before him (let's hope not), then you will think of this thread and say, "Gosh, n_naik1 was right. I should've listened to him."

Oh my goodness. I am very worried for him as well. You know when guys toss their shoes into the first row it's usually a gateway for things like cocaine and murder.

You need another angle before you can say he "chucked it into the crowd." That shoe could have landed short of the front row. We also don't know what happened during the play. My guess is he was pissed off, so he took his time initially, then realized it was wrong. He then tried to get back into the play, but the other team probably had already made their move, so he realized there was no need to hustle back anymore.

nothing wrong with what brooks did. you want him to play with an untied shoe (risk of injury) or tie his shoe up while the game was going on?

and he can't leave the shoe in the middle of the court.

people are now over-exaggerating whatever brooks is doing, geez

19 pts and 6 assist in only 23 min of play that game. He's shooting 46% and averaging 10 pts 4 assist since the trade in only 18 mpg. I don't know if Brooks is recently frustrated, but he's playing like an all - star when he's on the court since the trade.

Throwing the shoe away was the right thing to do. It would be like someone slapping him in the face and the team calling a timeout and him walking to the cursing.

So what. He is human , reacts to people mauling him. Normally doesn't overreact. You are a drama queen.

What is it with refs in team sports? If your laces are undone, or you lose a shoe. They may not stop the game. If you throw it over the sideline, they'll always stop play, to let you put it back on.

The last thread about Brooks' supposed spiral into self-destruction was just about as bad. The ref went over the line and Brooks called him on it and got kicked. Because he laughed in incredulity, some posters thought he was having a meltdown. He may be an emotional player but not every Youtube of him is a exhibit in his inability to cope with frustration.
