Hmm, the only elevator I take is up to my office which is on the 10th floor. It starts from the second floor. I don't take the elevator in the garage, and I generally park on level 7 or 8 (entrance is level 3), but 2 to 10 twice a day is a bit longer...

... but I've been needing a little more exercise. I was steady at 145 pre-surgery (appendectomy 2 years ago), and now I'm steady 160 so I need some kind of change. 160 for 5'11" isn't fat, but...

... starting with taking the stairs out of the office tonight.

I'm also on the StarCraft 2 regimen. Whenever I do something stupid or bad, I penalize myself with sit-ups, time spent doing cardio, or push-ups.

Well my office is 30+ floors high, and I already bike most days to downtown. But I accept your challenge. I take the stairs whenever I can so this should be doable.

I'll take the challenge. The elevators in my building are always broken so I have to sometimes hike up to the 12th floor anyways.

I don't have a garage door and am not aware of any escalators in a place I normally go

The only elevator at my disposal is in my apartment, I live on the 4th floor but the elevator is incredibly slow so I never take it

So I will likely pass your test, not because I am going out of my way to do it, those things just rarely part of my daily schedule

This anti-technology thing is too easy.

I say boycott the gym for a whole month and eat nothing but fast food during that same month.

Feeling a bit sick today, but I still used the stairs everywhere... coming up to the office, going to the breakroom in a different floor, taking a du... umm, going to the restroom, etc.
    I'll allow it!

    Sincerely,

I did the no elevators/escaltors thing for Lent a few years ago... it was good exercise, especially since I worked on a third floor and our main office was on the first... good times.

Climbed 8 floors this morning at work. I felt sick afterwards and my legs were heavy... I usually climb 5 in the garage and get slightly winded, but for some reason 8 was a lot more painful.

This is going to be hard.

Hey Swoly, what floor do you work on?

I would take your challenge but I mostly work out of my house, it is two stories and doesn't have an elevator or escalator, and I don't have an automatic garage door opener. Anyway when I do use elevators it is because I am helping my aunt who has mobility issues with her groceries to her 10th floor apartment or am at meetings in other buildings where I don't want to show up sweaty.

If you weren't so LAZY, sir, you would have pooped in a plastic bag, hopped on your bicycle and taken it all the way to the dump yourself.

It gets easier the more you do it. I only work on the 5th floor but when I first started taking the stairs every day, I literally felt like I was going to DIE for the first week or so. Now, I have to take the steps 2 at a time just to get my heart rate going.
