http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=FreeAgents-11-12 Who will DM go after this offseason?? I know the Lock Out is looming but we have a long offseason to figure things out.. We NEED size at the C position. UNRESTRICTED Bigs: Tyson Chandler Nene Samuel Dalembert Kyrylo Fesenko Marc Gasol (RESTRICTED) Another position that needs improvement is the SF. Chase is a great player but defensively lacks what it takes to be a starter. UNRESTRICTED SFs: Andrei Kirilenko Tayshaun Prince Caron Butler Wilson Chandler (RESTRICTED) How nice would 2 Chandlers be this offseason: Lowry/Dragic Martin/Lee W.Chandler/Budinger Scola/Patterson T.Chandler/Hill oh and sign the Chuckwagon too.
I would think Andrei Kirilenko would be a nice fit in Adelman's system (if he comes back), but I'm still bitter with former Jazz players becoming a Rocket (Antoine Carr,Kirk Synder)
Maybe after not making it all the way this season, D. Howard will be looking for a change of scenery. Because the Magic aren't winning anything this season. Look foe Howard to be this offseasons big star leaving his team.
I was hoping for Wilson Chandler and Marc Gasol at the trade deadline. It'll be hard to get them in free agency with both being restricted. And of course I'm still hoping we somehow steal DeMarcus Cousins from Sac Town.
FA: Samuel Dalembert Re-Sign: Yao & Hayes Trade: Scola + T.E. for Josh Smith Bud + T-Will + Hill + Thabeet + Memphis pick for Danny Granger Yao Ming, Dalembert, Miller J. Smith, Hayes, Patterson, Granger, #14 pick Martin, Lee, #23 pick Lowry, Dragic, #38 pick
Nene, Gasol, or Prince. I would love kirelenko but worried about injuries. Any of those 4 guys could join our team, play the system, not be ball stoppers and contribute in multiple ways
I hope we can make a serious run at M. Gasol along with any defensive wing. I'm not quite sure how the Grizz are going to sign both Z Bo and Gasol on the same off season especially with the CBA negotiations going on. Both are going to look to get paid. Jeeze, i hope it's Z Bo that they make a priority. It's time to use up those saved assets seeing as how the draft doesn't look deep.
Do the Rockets have the cap space to sign two big-time unrestricted free agent outright? I'm assuming with Yao Ming's contract coming off the books, we can sign one. Nene and Prince are the two players that would be interesting. Prince seems like a good passer, someone who'd fit in well in Adelman's system.
if we do have the estimated $7M in cap space, i'd go after wilson chandler and see if the nuggets are willing to shell out to keep him, since they will likely have to invest in gallinari next year. i think wilson is the perfect SF for this team. he can guard 3 positions, shoot from distance, post, rebound, and does it all with efficiency. i would also go after marc gasol. great fit for the team with his passing ability. he's a two way center who can rebound, score defend and pass. also very efficient. and we could steal him from a division rival... even better!
This would be awesome. Though I have a feeling Morey and Les are gonna throw big money at Marc Gasol in the hopes that Memphis won't match the offer sheet.
i think bima has said that unless we want to hurt our chances of signing an impact free agent in 2012, we have to resign chuck, offer our extensions, and leave it at that. Obviously it wouldn't preclude us from making a trade, but i was under the impression that we were going to largely sit out this year's free agency (with the exception of chuck and our extensions), but rather try to package players and picks to 1) move up in the draft and get an impact player, or 2) trade for an impact player. am i confused on our teams direction?
Color me a fan of Wilson Chandler. At 7M he can be the virtual Battier replacement. A trio of KM, Lowry and WC would instantly make us one of the best backcourts in the league, and if you replace Km with Courtney Lee you actually end up with three guys who are two-way threats.
I would try my hardest to get Gasol away from Memphis. Have him as the starting center for here on out. Chandler, Nene, Dalambert are all good options too. Try and get in this order Green, Prince, Ak, or Chandler(restricted other wise he'd be 2nd). We have to come out with at least a center in free agency or by trade.
