Im really excited about the Rockets. I enjoyed the game, over the radio. :( Yet, soon the real season starts and I think we have something special to look forward too!

Did anyone see the Asian chick sitting at very end of the scorer's table right next to the Rocket's bench? She wasn't bad looking. (I'd do'er.)

Anyway, was that the new Rockets chronicle writer Janny Hu?

    Starting five:
PG: Francis, obviously, hopefully Moochie will get healthy soon because Maddox and Tierre Brown dribbling into double teams at half court is painful to watch. I can go watch the middle school JV team to see that crap.

SG: Mobley, unfortunate, is by far our best at the position. But my goodness, this guy might as well play 1 on 5. He is one of the big reasons the Rox struggle defensively. Not only does he shoot to much, but half the time, he starts pounding the ball on the wing, looking for a lane to magically appear, while he's taken the team out of the offense. The Rox will not get out of the 1st round with this guy in the starting line up. He needs to be traded while he still has value.

SF: Nachbar is going to be the best player at the position by the end of the season. This guy is athletic, that block last night was sensational. He runs the floor well and has nice touch, his problem is going to be on the D side like most of our players, he's going to get mauled in the post.
Rice is too slow, but if he stays healthy, he'd be solid off the bench. However, he'll start if he's healthy, and there is no way he can stay in front any decent SF in the league.

PF: Mo Taylor could make this team really good if he can be a brute out there, which I think he's capable of. If he scores with any consistency, it's just a bonus.
Griffin does some great things, particularly on D with the shot blocking, but enough of the Matt Bullard imitations on O. He's got nice touch, but please take it to the rack. I think he'd be better at the 3, but the key is the perimeter D, seems quick enough, but we'll see.

C: Yao Ming has played in 2 games, and in both, he already changes what the opponents have done at both ends of the court. He's not quick off the floor, but he'll learn to keep his arms up, and he made strides from the spurs game to the sixers game as far as positioning for the boards. Teams will have to double him in the low block every time down by the end of the season. And the Rox won't have to double any teams big people save LA and SA.
Cato is a slug and continues to steal money every night. whats worse is he seems satisfied with his play. One of the worst signings in franchise history except maybe drafting Derrick Chievous and Dave Jamerson.

Kenny Thomas is great off the bench because he goes out and makes **** happen. He's not a starter in the league because he can't match up with anybody 40 minutes a night with any consistency. But he can score and plays hard and that's all you need off the bench.

I'm excited about the Rockets this year. I would say I'm excited about this team, except they really don't play as a team. There is still way to much one on one play in the half court. But if they ever learn true motion and passing the ball, they have the talent to do very well.

You are forgetting about TMo. If he can continue his good shooting then I think he is the best. I will say however that Boki could turn out just as you say. I hope he continues to progress both offensively and defensively.
