UK Girl yawns so hard her mouth can't close. ER Doctor helps.

    The puns are just hilarious!

    Let the jokes begin!

Girls I date often complain of their jaws dislocating.

I'd kind of be afraid to yawn after an experience like that.

Her boyfriend was overheard stating he needed to take her up to the bedroom for a brief moment before he drove her to the ER.

I thought it was difficult for any woman to keep her stupid mouth shut?

I've never heard so many euphemisms for the word mouth.

Wow, don't mean to interrupt the jokes but this exact thing has happened to me twice.

The first time, I woke up after a long sleep and yawned and my jaw dislocated, and I couldn't close my mouth. We weren't sure what was wrong so I tried just forcing it closed but that didn't work, then saw a chiropractor (since my parents thought it might be a muscle problem though I was pretty sure it was a bone thing), and then went to the ER. In the ER, a doctor came in, took a quick look, and then put his thumbs inside my mouth, pressed down while pulling up on the chin and popped the jaw back into place. It hurt for one instant but then felt sooo much better. Literally took him like 5 seconds to fix it. I guess I should have created a video and put it on youtube  Guess it wouldn't have been as dramatic as this.

The second time, I too yawned in class and it got stuck. I went to the bathroom and tried to pop it back out, but I didn't have the leverage to do it myself. So I went back to my dorm room and tried to explain to my roommates how to do it even though I couldn't really talk. One of them was grossed out but the second one was able to do it after I drew him a diagram.

Things you might not think about that occur when you can't close your mouth:
    1) Can't really talk
    2) Can barely swallow (you have to tilt your head back to let the liquid pool at the top of your throat and force swallow)
    3) Related to 2, saliva starts pooling up in your mouth and you have to be careful not to drool
    4) Your mouth dries out really fast

I'm getting jaw surgery soon so this doesn't happen anymore (I have an asymmetric jaw).

This happened to me before a few times where I yawn and my jaw kinda snaps and can't close it. But when that happens I just force it close and it's all good. Though it does hurt a bit.

Ive had to treat a patient that had that problem...the lollystick stuff was unnecessary, actually. Not that its a bad thing to do, but its a waste of time for the patient.
