I'm sorry, but this always bugs me.

He played a third of the season last year, getting 26 mpg in NY.
He played almost half a season the year before, 33 mpg.

Yao is the guy that's straight missed entire seasons. Not Tracy.

Feel free to say his knee wasn't right for 1.5 years, but he didn't go Grant Hill.

Well, yeah but still, he was out a lot. His legs were not and are not ready as simple as that. You add his 'motivation' and it gives you 2 ppg over the last two games.

Working out is one thing and playing at this level is completly different. I am not trying to defend him, not at ALL. I am just saying he is not ready and he has to focus on conditioning this summer.

With Mcgrady's 'long history' of working hard in the offseason (especially with the Rockets) I'm sure he'll comeback strong next season...that is, if anyone actually wants him next year...

Ill take him next season and put him in the starting lineup at the 3 and play back up 1,2,3, and 4 just like he did this season for the detroit pistons.

    I agree with this.

But this is a different situation.

McGrady isn't well known anymore because he has fallen off completely.

There is some motivation left but we'll see how that goes.

What team? Unless they're trading for a mid-20s superstar, the Rockets should just stay with the team they have now. Seems to be working pretty well. Martin, Lee, and Budinger are good for now, I think.

Nah, I'm more impressed about how much he improved since last season...wow look at those numbers! Looks like all that hardwork in the offseason really paid off...

Yes, he's looked terrible all year, still can't dunk, and has not improved at all from last season. Hopefully he gets bitten by a radioactive turtle sent down from basketball-heaven and regains his old form, without one second of real work, like the old days...

He can still dunk? Wow...yes, quite a testament to his great offseason conditioning. He couldn't dunk at all last year could he?

It's funny because I actually thought he WAS bitten by something radioactive in the offseason ,now that you mention it, with all his bloating in the beginning of the year...I guess that's what people look like when they're in great shape though, right? Hey, do Tmac a favor and tell him to take it a bit easier this next offseason...we don't want him getting into such great shape that he starts the season as a beachball...

Yes, when you talk about basketball, health he has looked better, even great at times.

But to me, when I look at his motivation and where it is and where it SHOULD BE I am shocked. The guy is showing why JVG was right and he is proving he doesn't love the game and all he cares is $$$ going forward. Look at his play/movement lately, this guy DOESN'T CARE!

This is what I truly believe his underlying problem is...he doesn't train hard anymore because he just doesn't love it. I really feel that when he retires, years later he's going to do an interview and talk about how he regrets not training as hard as he could have and quitting at times. But regardless he will still be known as one of the great talents basketball as ever seen.

Nope. He's gonna be one of those players who you mention could have been one of the greatest to even play the game; however he couldn't do it.

Did you not see him play last season? The difference in his jumping and overall movement is night and day. Do you watch him play or just look at statistics?

Wow! Look at how fat he is! Good grief, is that Thomas Hamilton?
