I'm a returning UoH student...working on my BS in mechanical engineering and hoping to get into their new nanoengineering graduate program afterwards. I love the campus...lots of good opportunities.
What do you enjoy more, delaying financial aid until after tuition is due, or not filing someone's graduation paperwork until after their background check for their first job?

You know what ticked me off about UH? The grade point system is slanted to make it tougher. You can get an A-, but not an A+. Freaking BS, man. Every other university in Texas (at the time) goes with an A, B, C, D, F format.
And Rice actually did give an A+, I remember interning at some firm and the analysts getting resumes from kids actually putting in there "4.33 GPA out of 4.0." Only thing worse was reading local articles about high school footballers saying their 3.7 was out of 4.0 (when it was actually a 5.0 or 6.0 point scale).
I was gonna give U of H an A, but after hearing that I'm giving them an A-. I was a dumb communications major. My degree is great, as long as I stay in Houston! Everybody should have to take a whiskey **** in a 3rd Ward gas station at least once in their life. God help me, I catch a couple basketball games a year...
Graduated in December with a Bio major, Chem/Health minor. GO COOGS! I bleed scarlet red and have friends who are albino white. Now that I think about it, that's pretty offensive. Albino white.
You can't just say something out of 4.33 scale though. It is literally impossible to get a 4.33 because not all professors give A+'s out of principle. I'm a Rice Alum.
That is because Entrepreneurship is not a real major. US news doesn't even have it on their top 10 for the major. http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/business-entrepreneurship Not trying to troll but it is what it is.
Yeah but I got a 97 in one of my classes and am getting the same grade as someone that got a 93.. I wish we could get over a 4.0 that way it could balance out lol
A+ at most Rice classes are reserved for the top 1 or 2 students in the class. 97 probably isn't an A+ unless that is the highest grade in the class. I had a 100+ average in one of the programming classes but got an A because I didn't participate in class.
So even if 100 people in the class end up getting 95+.. they will randomly scale it and drop some of those peoples averages down?
