well having iverson get more assists than the entire team combined should never ever happen even if steve was playing alone. but it should be noted that the offense really went to iso's when ming was in the game. bill and calvin brought it up and it's true, he just doesn't know the sets and they're simplifying it. for the most part i've seen a pretty good change in the offense and i think once ming gets acclimated it will work out.

That excuse is old and tired Cat. That is a bunch of BS. What is the excuse you will give mid season when they are playing the same style??? The infamous: "the team is still young." They have shown NO progress and Francis is playing out of position. Aside from Griffin, EVERY SINGLE PLAYER back from last year is a selfish player and do not know a thing about the "team" concept of basketball. Francis, Cat, Cato, Rice, NONE OF THEM. Be ready for the same boring style of baskeball as last year!!
You get outboarded by 21 when they block you out on the offensive glass and hustle more for the rebounds. You get outrebounded when you are missing MT, KT and TMo. You get outrebounded when you rely on Hawkins and Boki to play SF. You get outrebounded when you put Collier in as your PF. You get outrebounded when your center is still only hours away from a 20 hour plane flight with two practices to show for it. Give Ming a full preseason and time to acclimate to his team mates and he will skin Skinner on the boards. Francis is playing mainly point, but the last two games Cat has taken over a lot of point duties and Steve has been used more as a two. I think Rudy is experimenting with that and wanted Steve to be more agressive on individual offense. Preseason = experimentation. Tough and smart starts next game. You won't see Collier, Brown, Hawkins and Boki getting so many minutes. The real rotation will take hold and the play should drastically improve. Yao Ming will show more improvement. Everything will work much better...

OK, the preseason excuses don't count anymore. We gotta face the music: this team sucks. 1. Steve Francis: on pace to be the first PG in history with more turnovers than asissts. 2. Griffin: The ESPN preview hit it right on the nail. This guy can't shoot. He can't pass either. I can't believe the Rockets passed again on Rashard for this guy. 3. Nachbar. Total bust so far. I can't believe all the hype this guy generated after the draft. "Ready to contribute right away!" "Future star" "The next Peja" etc. 4. Moochie: What's this guy got on Tiere Brown? Why is Tiere out of the league while Moochie makes more money than Rod Strickland? 5. Ming. I am pissed off and I am pissed off. First I am pissed off at the stupid Chinese commies. Everyone knew that Ming will take time to adjust to the speed and competetion in the NBA, why on Earth did they keep him away from training camp. Korea kicked their sorry butt anyway. They just jeopardized his development. He is turning into a Kwame Brown, except that he is much older and must be way ahead of where Kwame was last year. Besides that, the guy pisses me off too. He's driving me nuts with his sheepishness. Where's your dignity young man? How can a 22-old man who lives with his mommy and says that one day he wants to be as good as Cato be considered a future superstar? I would bet a lot more on a guy like Amare, who at 19 is his own man in life and is not afraid to speak the big speak, to be the future of NBA.
Kayman, I think you need to take a deep breath and relax. To say the team sucks is pretty misleading when MoT, KT, Rice, and TMo are out. That represents production of around 30-40 points right there, not to mention defense from KT and TMo. It's pretty tough for the rest of the team to take up the slack. As for your criticisms of individual players, I agree with some of them, but I take the following exceptions: Calling Nachbar a "total bust:" Go back and look at first-year stats for other Euro players like Dirk and Peja. You won't be too impressed. Gasol seems to be the exception. Ming: most of your criticism seems to be around his personality. What's wrong with living with his mother and complimenting his teammates? Also, please don't throw phrases like "stupid Chinese commies" around the bbs. Try to show some class.
Way to go Houston. We won with four important players. I'm proud of you. It wasn't pretty yet it's a win. And for the person who says we suck your attitude sucks.
