We all knew we were going to lose at Miami, now we have to go 9-1. Looking at out schedule we have to steal one from Dallas or SA and win everything else. Rockets schedule: @ New Jersey @ Philadelphia vs San Antonio vs Atlanta vs Sacramento @ New Orleans vs LA Clippers vs Dallas @ Minnesota NO Schedule: vs Portland vs Memphis vs Indiana vs Houston vs Phoenix @ Memphis vs Utah @ Dallas Key Matchups: NO vs Memphis NO at Memphis HOU at NO I really believe Memphis can beat them both times. As for us, we need to beat them. Problem is even if we beat them, they still have the tie-breaker with us. Verdict: Everyone knew we had to go 8-2, and we had to push for New Orleans not Memphis. If we manage to steal a game vs SA and win the games we are supposed to, we are in. Don't keep your hopes extremely high though.
Memphis is still a realistic target due to the tiebreaker. Basically it's going to end up that we'll have to cheer for whoever wins the 1st NO/Memphis matchup to win the 2nd one. Catching either team is still doable.
Does anyone really believe the Rockets are going 9-1 the rest of the way? I don't think that is going to happen. Maybe Memphis will stumble. That doesn't look likely either. There is still a chance, but the chances are not good. I am proud of the way they have played since the break.
Even though I will be disappointed if the Rox don't make the playoffs, I'm glad they have played well enough to be even considered relevant for the playoffs. If the Rox are fortunate enough to squeak in, don't see them doing much. Yesterday obviously showed this team is not there yet to bang with the big boys. Rox couldn't keep the Heat off the offensive boards to save their lives. (Don't know why JHill didn't get anytime in 2nd half to help on the boards) Still would be great step in right direction to make playoffs though. We'll see.
the hornets could very well lose the rest of their games, but I see them winning only 3 games best case scenario.
Yeah, I don't see that happening. They just played (and won) their last really hard game. The only other danger on their schedule are the 2 games against NO. And NO isn't as good a team as Memphis is now, and just lost West to boot. I wouldn't be surprised to see Memphis win out the remainder of their schedule.
I see Memphis losing only 3 games tops: at Portland, at Hornets, at Clippers(or Kings they are playing better as of late).
All we have to do is approach every game as a playoff game and win every game. That is all the team can do. All of these games on the remaining schedule are winnable (San An/Dallas being TOUGH but winnable). It is a difficult task but it isn't over.
****, just realized that Duncan is pegged to return for the Rockets game on 4/1. Hopefully it is an April Fools joke.
Maybe with it being first game back, his timing will be all off and he'll lose the game for San Antonio by taking up valuable possessions trying to get his game back on line. I can hope.
We should be able to go 7-2 easily in our last 9 games. The way the Spurs have been playing without Duncan that game now is a toss up. The only two real challenges I see is SA and Dallas.
Well just read aboe that Duncan is slated to be back against us. Hopefully as said above he will have some rust on him.
