Who cares if Tito/Hawkins/Torres make the team. Mobley is playing 40 + mins a night. Whoever backs him up wont really matter.

Torre did well in last year's preseason, and then sort of disappeared in the regular season. Maybe that's why the coaches aren't that much impressed with his preseason performance this year.

Of the 5 "on the bubble" guards, I like Hawkins the most, Torres and Mickeal tie for second, Brown third, and Maddox last. One more of them will be cut too. I hope it's Maddox.

I'm disappointed with Goodrich's cut too, although I kinda anticipated it. I think he's better than Collier. Too bad, Collier has a guaranteed contract and Goodrich doesn't.:(

With Cuttino we didn't really need OT. I hate to miss him, but what we need is a good "defensive hard nosed" player to come in and just play.

Hopefuly OT can find a nice home on the bench of another team.

I'm going to miss Torres. He can be a decent backup,he works hard. I think his outside shot needs improvement and that was probably one of the reasons why he got cut.
I hope that he will get on another team where he will do well.

I thought Oscar was playing very well this preseason. He seemed to be hitting a good percentage of his shots on the kickout. The thing I always liked most about him was that he new how and when to move without the ball. His main drawback was/is his lack of lateral quickness on defence(we have enough of that already).

I'm sure the reason Rudy cut him so soon was to give him a chance to catch on with another team. Heck, he's probably already calling other teams for him. I like Hawkins game and hopefully he'll become more consistent with his outside shot. Unless Rudy wants two JYD type of players on the team this probably means the axe for Pete M.

    Good luck Oscar

Oscar had no upside. I really think we saw him at his best- which is unremarkable.

Hawkins, on the other hand, has the opportunity to show himself to be a defensive stopper, which the Rockets sorely need.

This is a good move by Rudy T and CD. We need to take chances on our 10 through 15 guys, and hope we find a diamond in the rough. Oscar will have a good career in Europe, and Hawkins will hopefully break into the rotation next year.

I thought the competition for the roster spots for OT was Hawkins. I guess Hawkins won and OT is out of a job. Was Hawkins playing in the final minutes of the last pre-season game?

OT did not have the Defense the team needs. Hawkins does. That's the ballgame. I think Pete M. will be cut when he is offically not injured. I would be shocked if Tito was cut. He is a gamble for the rockets and they will give him at least a year. I think Tierre Brown played well enough to stick.

No way Cato is going to be cut. As much as I hate to say say this, we need Cato until Yao Ming learns the ropes. Then Cato can become the backup center.

i liked oscar, he seemed like a good guy and he worked hard. however his shot was erratic and probably not any better than hawkins. plus with juaquin we get a solid defender who seems to fit his role on the team alot better. how many minutes does cuttino's backup actually get anyways? that job is mostly steve's first since mooch is still an integral part. anyways good luck to both torres and goodrich on finding spots.

Isn't Mickeal (sp?) in the hospital having surgery?

If so, I think the rosters pretty much set.
