Chuck is an awesome player and a stand up guy it seems. I like our teams chemistry and feel eventhough we have no standout leader we have step up leaders that comeout when need be.
Good question. I've been watching a bit of NBA TV and it seems that they are not taking the Rockets seriously. When they start talking about a team taking possibly coming from behind to take the 8th spot they overlook the Rockets and starts talking about the Suns... What do these guys have to do to get some respect??
For what it's worth, Chuck shot over 60% from the foul line in each of his first two seasons. In fact, he's only shooting about 1% better from the line than he did his rookie season.
RIGHT NOW . . Chuck Hayes is a Rich Man's Chuckie Brown. While some will think this is a put down What I mean is. . . these are guys that WORKED HARD for everything Who remembers Chuckie Brown making Charles Barkley work for everything Chuckie Brown was a great defender [not Chuck Hayes level but . . ] In 94-95 He had to Play at the PF against Utah Jazz - Karl Malone Phoenix Suns Charles Barkley and AC Green [Wayman Tisdale/Danny Manning] San Antonio Spurs Terry Cummings and Dennis Rodman Orlando Magic Horace Grant I'm not saying Chucky Brown did it on his own . . . but . . I guess I see alot of the modest dedication and hard work of Chucky Brown in Chuck Hayes. Like others. . . I think Chuck's upside is higher . . .Only thing Chucky Brown had that Chuck Hayes doesn't is the jump shot. and I think CHayes *can and will* develope one. I just like watching him develop. Rocket River just and old man remember the past and seeing the future. . . .
This actually reminds me of Bo Outlaw. He even had a triple double when he played for the Magic. That season he was basically known as a spot defender and an energy guy, but something about that team he just fit perfectly with them and what they were doing. Never a big scorer but he could fill up the stat sheet in every other column. I'm not playing fantasy basketball this season but I wonder where his value is right now in roto leagues. I bet he's sitting on a lot of waiver wires.
Chuck Hayes is ****ing magic. Triple double. Unbelievable. This **** makes me proud to be American. No sarcasm, to see a dude come in on a 10 day and make it this far maximizing what he's got through work that's the **** right there USA USA
Yeah. Kevin's really creepy. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XMSev4gcPus#t=2m46s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Good guy but creepy.
Yeah, but he wouldn't say that except as follow-up to Bill saying: Bill: "Oh lordy, did you see that. Chuck is making it look easy, now. He's got the Chuckwagon on cruise control!" Drexler: "The Chuckwagon on auto-cruise, hahaha."
I don't know why people around the league are so surprised about this. Chuck has always been a great passer and rebounder, and his per-36 averages for PPG and RPG were already over 10. It was pretty much inevitable that he would eventually play enough minutes and have a good enough passing game to snag one.
I've been saying it all season, Chuck Hayes is the Rockets MVP. He has been consistent all year. I may have to amend that statement however because Lowry and Hayes are probably co-MVPs with the way Lowry has emerged particularly in the 2nd half.
I'm with you! I'm happy Chuck is getting the recognition he deserves, but All this recent "love" is bordering on disrespect for me. Every article I've read and every comment on the sports channels I've heard sounds like a backhanded compliment.
Not only that but Chucky Brown had to come in late in the season and help Horry do the job the OT did the year before. I remember being worried about Brown when he first started because I didn't think he had enough time to get used to the offense or get any rhythm, but after his terrific performance against Phoenix in the playoffs, I never doubted his talent again.
