just to add, the only question is whom to root for in the two Mem-NO games

You just keep winning, that is all the Rockets can do. I agree that it looks like NO may fall a spot or two, Memphis may move up, giving the Rockets a chance. It is going down to the wire. And the NO game may be huge.

I dont think it matters in the first matchup who to root for

in the second matchup we must root for the team that won the first matchup.

I dont care who wins the NO/Mem matchup i just dont want it to be a split

either Memphis or NO wins 2-0 that will help the Rockets the most.

I think it is really going to depend on what the standings are when they meet. We'll probably be rooting for the team with the better record to sweep the other team.

If I had my way, Memphis would sweep the series and New Orleans would drop out of the playoffs.

The last 3 maybe 4 games for NO may not be as tough as expected if those teams (Memphis and Dallas) are already set in the standings.
In that case they may just play the bench and NO would win easy. Also, Utah and Phoenix may be out of the race by that time in which
they could let their benches play or spoil the fun for NO, never know.

We just need to keep winning and eventually Memphis or NO will start to give ground.
I'm just happy the Rockets are making it interesting this year. Something to look forward too.

Dallas would probably be set and resting for the playoffs. But, I doubt Memphis will be safe by then. If they are, we have no chance anyway.

As for the lotto teams, I'm worried you might be right about PHO. They may have already stumbled by then and not be trying as hard. Utah already is not playing up to their record now that Sloan and Williams are gone. I won't count on them to beat a motivated NO team.

I don't know about that. Nash would never not try hard, and Brooks would never quit on his team. Well OK, Brooks might quit. But Nash will never ever quit playing hard.

I can see NO going 5-6, which means we would have to go 8-2. So now the question is can we? I love this team, but 8-2, sigh. We are bound to lose 1 game we shouldn't. So hopefully we can beat MIA, SAS & DAL. Win 2 of these games and we are in, but lose 2 out of the 3 and we are out.

with NO's schedule, something's got to give.

games against Memphis, Phoenix, Utah, Houston, etc...

all these teams are going to scrambling for the same position.

makes for a very exciting end to the season.

Our game against NOLA is big we need it. They have series over us this season 2-1 so what happens if we tie them?

They still have the series due to the next tie-breaker, which is the divison record.

5-5 in their last 10. They have been mediocre lately while the Rockets/Grizzlies are surging. They may have a 2.5 game lead over the Rockets but a few losses and that could easily disappear.
