I don't even know why some on here expected anything out of Williams when he was the one that couldn't cut it as a NEW JERSEY NET. They needed him to be their starting 2/3 and he has the tools to do so but his mental state (i.e. immaturity) got in the way. Williams is another one of Morey's "He's talented. Let's take a shot and see if he pans out. If not, he'll be traded for a future draft pick" moves.
You might get your answer pretty quick. If Budinger is activated for the Miami game, T-Will will probably be on the IR and ineligible to play. It's either him or Carroll.
Considering Wade scored majority of his points in the paint via layups, dunks, and short finger rolls. We must have a shot blocker, either Patterson or Hill on the floor at all times to make Wade/LeBron shoot jumpers to beat us. Scola/Hayes just wont work, gotta be Scola/Patterson, Scola/Hill, Hayes/Patterson, or Hayes/Hill combo of some sort.
Carroll has already got more recognition from Adelman in interviews because of only two or three practices since the trade where he has obviously made a positive impression for his hard work. Id say its more likely that Terrence is on IR since Budinger is expected to be back. Terrence should have been in Rio Grande for the past week or so to at least help sell some tickets down in the valley.
Defensively you are just going to see them rotate EVERYBODY on EVERYBODY. You might see Lowry on Lebron and Chuck on DWade at times, but its going to require tight rotations and you have to give up jump shots from this group and hope they dont catch fire. Other than that push the tempo on offense and try and force them to go small.
T-Will will not and should not play for the Rockets this season. Mike Harris may see more minutes though as he could help us out Sunday.
obviously lots of things have to go right for us to beat miami. but it will be patterson, not twill who will defensively change the game.
I think we need to trade him for a late 2nd round pick or something before he pulls an Aaron Brooks and sabatoges his trade value with his bad attitude and frustration. Then all of the TWill only Fans can order league pass and watch him dunk and chunck all night long in a TWolves uniform! Yes i called some of you TWill only Fans.... if it don't apply, let it fly. But my mother always said that a "hit dog will holler', so those that feel offended i say this. if you were a Rockets fan you wouldn't be begging for this guy to play as well as the team has been playing with him waaaaay waaaaaay on the far end of the bench. You would love to torpedo our chemistry just to see this guy dunk and chunk up bricks in the name of "developing a(n) (alleged, potential) superstar"
What we need is a Twill that plays hard and gives us his best game every minute he's out there. Not just against Miami, but against everyone. If we make the playoffs, another quality guy off the bench could be crucial. But theirs one thing about RA that I have no doubt of. It that he wants to win. And if Twill isnt out there playing, then he decidedly feels we have a better chance to win with him on the bench.
The best defensive options against Lebron would be: Hayes, Patterson, Harris. Don't know how healthy Bud is. Assuming he can play, he probably won't play more than 30 minutes, maybe much less. I think starting Patterson at the 3 and bringing Bud off the bench is a good idea. If Wade goes off like last time, then there's not much we can do.
Adelman mentioned Patterson may get some time as SF while Budinger is out. The Miami game would be the game to do it.
