    Oh dear.

But he is on our roster.

Regardless, the original post outlined our starting 5 and the fact that only a couple of them managed to sneak into the first round of the draft.

It seems as though a late first round pick made by Morey is much more valuable than a lotto pick by another GM.

    Yikes.

This got me wondering...where would those players go if we could redo the draft?

    2006 Draft List

    1. Brandon Roy
    2. LaMarcus Aldridge
    3. Rudy Gay
    4. Rajon Rondo
    5. Paul Millsap
    6. Kyle Lowry

    2004 Draft List

    1. Dwight Howard
    2. Kevin Martin
    3. Andre Iguodala
    4. Al Jefferson
    5. Josh Smith

    2009 Draft List

    1. Blake Griffin
    2. Stephen Curry
    3. Tyreke Evans
    4. Brandon Jennings
    5. Darren Collison
    6. Austin Daye
    7. Taj Gibson
    8. Dejuan Blair
    9. DeMar DeRozan
    10. Jrue Holiday (?)
    11. Chase Budinger

    2002 Draft List

    1. Amare Stoudemire
    2. Yao Ming
    3. Carlos Boozer
    4. Nene
    5. Luis Scola
    6. Caron Butler
    7. Tayshaun Prince

    2005 Draft List

    1. Chris Paul
    2. Deron Williams
    3. Andrew Bogut
    4. Andrew Bynum
    5. Danny Granger
    6. David Lee
    7. Monta Ellis
    8. Marcin Gortat
    9. Chuck Hayes
    10. Andray Blatche

Don't bash too much on the order, I didn't take much time to think them out, just did it quickly.

    So Lowry @ 6, Martin @ 2, Scola @ 5, Bud @ 11, Chuck @ 9. Not too shabby.

Yes, but it beats the pants off a team of heralded-over-paid-prima-donnas who don't play hard or work hard to improve their games.

Its gonna be pretty sweet when after the Carmelo and Amare signings we're still going to end up swapping picks with the Knicks.

At least it wasn't our lotto picks we wasted. We got them for a broken tmac, an aging battier, and a conditional 1st rounder.

Yeah, but like dajuice said, we didn't draft them, so they weren't lotto picks for us. More like finding free scratch off lotto tickets lying around. Might be nothing, might be winners, but no big risk taken.

2009 is still the recent past, some players dont make a positive contribution until 3-4 years later.

Thabeet, JHill, Twill. Draft high doesn't mean a thing.
Who wants tanking when these underdogs fighting like Rocky Balboa?

I would put Chuck at a 66... since he was drafted 6th in the D-league draft ;)

That would be a 43rd average

The thing about low draft picks is that if they turn out good, they usually are irregularly shaped. If they have the NBA body and can play, they'd be high picks. The good low picks are usually too skinny, too short, too unathletic, or have too much buttocks. You rarely get any great 7 foot 270 lb center with 35 inch vertical and nice post moves at anything other than high lotto picks.
