that was one of my nicer posts comparing the two... I didn't care what some posters said in their response to me... I know what I see/saw. And I had more interaction with the two point guards than most anyone from Austin can...
Agreed. Plus brooks has become a chucker, scoring in volumes and at a low .355 FG% right now. That's not efficient at all. I've been saying this forever, but brooks=mike james with alot of speed.
I don't think any "Lowry supporters" have ever argued that he was the better offensive player. I don't think I say that in my post either. He is, and always has been, the better overall player though. And when I say "overall" I don't mean offensive or defensive. I mean the ability to help his team win. The only thing that matters.
So if the rockets miss the playoffs, does that mean a lowry led team equals the lotto? I think lowry and even a guy like patterson are great examples of a guy taking advantage of their shot to show the coach. Personally, i dont think lowry this year is any better than brooks from last year. The argument about defense and that stuff is irrelevant if you watch the rockets play defense and lowry in particular. He's a better defender than brooks, but just like his ft attps, his defense average now at best. It would be hating if i continued, but big ups to lowry and the rockets.
No it means a Lowry lead team with an anemic whining Brooks off the bench + injuries + No Yao again misses the playoffs.
I see I'm always on ur mind right? Maybe I will chunk you a little change to manage to keep you busy.
My favorite thing about Lowry is that he can have a bad shooting game and still have a good game in general. Again, this thread is not about Lowry vs Brooks.
why you bringing up old stuff??? somebody should start a thread showing all the people that see all star potential in hill........
If you watch lowry the bench player vs lowry the starter, you will see things that most thought would carryover, but didnt. I remember people talking about how many more fouls lowry would draw vs brooks. Well, looking at it, its pretty much the same. Why? As a starter, regardless of what people think, you do conserve energy as a starter. Lowry the starter cant be reckless for 36 minutes and to his credit hasnt. Also, there were alot of posters talking about being scared defensively of a Brooks-Martin backcourt. Most complained about Brooks sticking to screens and such, but watch lowry and you will see the same thing. Thats not to say he's as poor of a defender as brooks, but he went from good off the bench to average at best. Most of the times when he get caught on screens, some is effort, some is technique because he reaches alot. Also, watch the floor balance when he goes in for the offensive rebounds. You will notice the court out of balance, lowry on the wrong end and when the opponet is pushing, he's passing his man off to another teammate. All in all, lowry has done a good job this year. I think he will be better next year conditioning wise and experience wise. Going from bench player to starter is a jump. Conditioning wise, its a big jump from playing 24 minutes to 34 minutes a night. Next season, he now knows what it takes from a physical point of view to be able to perform at a high level energy wise.
It is kind of interesting how Lowry is averaging less FTA in more minutes; he's going to the line less than Brooks did last year. Has he changed his style? With his improved shot and confidence, he seems to be settling for a lot more jumpers this year. His FT% has also dipped, but I imagine that is a conditioning issue since he's playing heavy minutes now. Hopefully he comes back even stronger next year.
Give credit where credit is due. Bud is having decent performances night after night since the trade deadline.
Hey guy! Where is the video? I really enjoyed them to be honest. Do come back!! You know what? Bud is playing GOOD!!!!!
