It seems like every stat line I see for Yao has perfect or near perfect FT percentages. What do you guys think about this? Its going to be a huge advantage to have a center that is such an offensive threat and automatic from the line. Something tells me that the world will never see "hack-a-yao"
i heard Yao won a FT competition with Chinese NT player early last year. He made more than 150 consecutive FTs to beat Liu. He won a dinner finally.
It'll be very important b/c I imagine Yao will get fouled a lot. Francis/Mobley drives and dish to Ming, and he's prolly gonna take a hard foul unless the defense is just too out of place to foul him. With the amount of shots close around the basket that he'll take and the amount of times he'll probably get fouled, his ft percentage will be a huge asset. Usually, if there is a pass made inside to Cato and he gets fouled, it's usually an automatic 1 for 2 from the line. With Ming, there will be no such worries.
