Kevin love falls shorts of dimaggio's 56 game ... oops wrong sport... Love's 53 game double double streak ends at 53 against the no D Warriors of all teams to boot... And suprisingly or maybe not, its his inability to reach double digit pts that is the cause, finishing the game with 6 pts and 12 rbs. While i dont think Love is a top 5 PF his statistical output this season has been extremely impressive.

I would've never thought he'd break the streak because of single-digit scoring, damn.

1-6 from the field.. you gotta get more FGA than that, Kevin!

Actually, this is exactly how I thought his streak would end, because of points and not rebounds.

He's an elite rebounder but his offensive game isn't at an all-star level.

What does that mean though? He's scoring nearly 21PPG this year shooting 47% from the field and 43% from downtown. The FG% isn't great for a big man, but then you realize he spends a lot of time on the perimeter and shootings 43% from three-point land and it's pretty damn impressive, IMO.

That's already a sign right there. Anyone who gets most of their buckets from the perimeter will have nights where their jumpshot won't fall.

    He only shot 6 times.

Had he taken 2 or more shots, he could've easily gotten another double double.

The guy just knows how to play and wants to win. The fact that he is 1-6 shows you the guy knows his limitations or when his shots aren't falling.

Sure, but that applies to guys like Kobe, Wade, etc as well. I don't think you'd call their offensive game "not at an all-star level."

I mean, 21PPG is still 21PPG. That's not something just anyone can do. For comparison's sake, Love scores as much or more than:

    Pau Gasol
    Deron Williams
    Danny Granger
    Zach Randolph
    Rudy Gay
    Joe Johnson
    Steph Curry
    Luis Scola
    Paul Pierce
    Stephen Jackson
    etc..

Give the man his due.. he's a hell of a player.

or maybe now that he already owns the record, he is not worried about getting the dd.
As i already posted, i think he is overrated. If u average 21/16 and your team cant get even 20 wins a year, you are still doing something wrong.
The only real thing about this guy, is that he is just an incredible rebounder, almost as good as rodman was. He is very good at getting position under the rim and taking all the space.
His scoring is not bad, but his defense is horrible.

what did kobe do on a bad team?? they sucked right? with that being said. you cant just rely on one player. its not his fault his stuck with the Griz. but i dont think theyr a bad team. theyr just young and inexperienced (ala clipers). his scoring is not bad? u dont like 21 ppg ? our own yao ming averaged 19 and 9 bf he went down.

All 21 point averages are not the same. He is still very young and could develop but he ain't no 21 point per game on a good team. I think he is closer to a 20 rebound guy on a good team.

Love should be getting 6-8 points a game from second chance opportunities alone(he avearges nearly 5 Orebs/game) and another 4pts at the free throw line. That's just shocking that he didn't get double digits in scoring(against the Warriors). Maybe David Lee took away some of those offensive board chances. Doesn't look like Lee got a ton of boards, but maybe their strategy was just to effectively block out Love the entire length of the court.

I dont even know why u bring kobe bryant in the same conversation with kevin love.
2004-2005 lakers, kobe with ankle injury = 34-48
    2005-2006 lakers = 45-37
    2006-2007 lakers = 42-40
The came the gasol trade and we know how that ended. Even when his team was terrible, he at least lead them to 30+ wins.
Im not saying teams should rely on 1 player, but its kinda funny how a 21/16 guy cant even win 20 games a season.
And his 21 ppg average are just inflated. He scores that mutch coz his team sucks so badly. Someone have to score, or do u really believe love is a better scorer than gasol just because he averages 21ppg vs 18.5ppg.
love is a good player, he could probably be a 15/15 guy on a good team and help them win, but he is just not good enought to lead a team to the playoffs, at least not right now.
So comparing him to kobe bryant, who had led his team to two championships and won another 3 behind shaq its just lame. Maybe in 10 years we will be talking about kevin love incredible winning atributes and how he led a team to 6 championships, but right now, he is not that good. Great players elevate the level of their teammates and make them look better than they really are. Good players just have good numbers.
Thats why Kobe, Shaq, Hakeem, Duncan, magic, bird will be remembered for a long time , and guys like tmac, monta ellis, antawn jamison, allen iverson will just vanish.

K.Love is the perfect PF for a team with an elite SG and C but need an x-factor.
