CLee and Dragic are getting much more involved in the team, Patterson is growing up very quickly...

i love this team, but after this game, i have to say we are not gonna make the playoff:(

i hope we can trade Miller, Hill, TWill for a solid center and some draft picks during off season

We might've had a much better chance at winning this game if our first quarter had been better. really, most of the first half. The Rockets felt flat, like there wasn't a lot of fire then; they sure came back from halftime all fired up and they hustled like crazy.

I wish coach had left PPat in; I know it was because Duncan came back in that Coach Adelman subbed chuck in, but I really thought Patrick was very good and earned some more play time. I'll be shocked if that boy doesn't go on to do great things in the NBA; he just has an uncanny instinct to be in the right place at the right time, to make (mostly) the right moves.

Gutsy effort; they gave it their all. This team competes.

So, what now? The only reason I want this team to make the playoffs is for more games and espn will have to have Rockets games on national t.v. And I would hope we knock the Spurs out of the first round.

    Triple Crown of Futility

Earlier tonight the Rockets shot better from the field than the Spurs, shot better from the FT line, and shot better from behind the arc, only to lose the game. Huh?

In fact, the Rockets also had more assists and blocks than San Antonio, and until the final few seconds of the game, they had more rebounds, as well. (In the final secs SA grabbed two boards and bettered the Rockets by a final margin of 42 to 41.)

It seems hard to lose a game after beating the opposition in every major category, especially the three critical shooting percentages.

The one stat I'm hiding: turnovers. Houston had 18, San Antone had 11. Turnovers is what always kills the Rox against the Lakers, too. Can you point to coaching for that one? What explains the mental lapses that lead to turnovers?

I feel like turnovers are analyzed a lot in the NFL and serve as an explanation for a loss when otherwise outgaining the opposition and generally playing a better game, but they're overlooked somewhat in the NBA.

The problem with this team is that we can't afford any injuries. Missing the second highest paid active player is going to kill us.

Should have brought in Chuck for C-Bud instead of 2Pat. As far as Miller goes, for the love of Hakeem just die already. Hill was playing much better than Miller.

From a Spurs fan: Spurs fan here, happy with the win but i gotta be honest, we got a lil help from the refs indeed! haha So what if the refs help you out? You take anything to get the W right? Like anyone would care about this game in a year or two or even next week. Everyone will forget about this game while we enjoy the win, thank you NBA! These are the perks of being a Spurs fan rather than being a Rockets fan! Haha You fellas been sucking for 14 years now. haha

This is true and it hurts. I wanna kill that guy.

I thought you were going to say something about the refs and go with the 'triple' theme of your thread since there are 3 refs.

The refs called lee for a BS call and that was the game.

Turnovers can be out of whack and you can still win. In NFL there are less possessions so therefore more focus on turnovers.

And how is shooting good from the field and from 3 futile?

I have a feeling if OP posts 2 more times in this thread he might reach the triple crown of futile posts in his own thread.

Did we get beat by 50. yeah a loss is a loss but the notion that we got whooped is stupid. It's like when I play my friend in one on one and he makes a fadeaway prayer to win then says he 'kicked my ass' umm barely winning is not kicking someone's ass. We were not futile we just had a few bad breaks and lost the game

Don't forget advantage in personal fouls: 7 more than SA.

Good game and should leave ppat in the game. Now I don't think anybody will want to take Miller,Hill and Twill even for free.

I'm not going to complain about the officiating at the end. I'm going to complain about the officiating from start to finish...it was consistently bad. I hate the Spurs almost as much as I hate the Jazz and their stupid fans.

Another thing. I am getting really tired of Bud's lack of effort on both ends of the floor. It's been a terrible bout of complacency from Bud. Friggin waste of 36 Hakeem-damned minutes for Bud. Give T-Will some regular minutes to put some pressure on Bud's ass.

    Rockets post-trade record:

    5-0 when T-Will plays.
    0-3 when T-Will doesn't play.

Bud played so much better in those five games where T-Will saw playing time.

Was it my imagination ? Or were the Spurs getting every call of any potential phantom touch by the Rockets?
Was it my imagination that there is a lot of tricky DIRTY stuff in the play of the Spurs?
Was it was my imagination that the Houston Rockets were at a disadvantage
when having to play the Spurs, who seem to spend a lot of time talking to the Refs?
Was it my imagination that even a clean player Antonio McDyess now under the Spur's Coach has also become DIRTY?:p

1 truth will hurt them too if they go against Lakers. They can get more calls against, but more than Lakers when they play them? more than Celtics? Doubt it.

Hate Lakers... but Lakers can kill Spurs in the playoffs with the help of bigs and with the help of refs.
