    been debunked, try again.

but I know you wont, you will keep repeating the same old tired crap over and over...and the worst part? some people around here will believe you.

well said Deck, I dont know what Justice thinks he knows and heard, but this is stupidity....if (BIG IF) he does part ways with Adelman, he better have someone better lined up (which Im sure he doesnt as there really arent any better available).

For the most part, this is supposition and bs being believed by some "fans" who already wish to get rid of Adelman cause they want to lose.(tankers  )

They would play better defense and worse offense. JVG had multiple Rocket teams that were more talented than this one, so not sure I understand the "what JVG could do with this much talent" comment.

Not at all. We had Yao and Tracy. The supporting cast after them consisted of David Wesley, Ryan Bowen, Jon Barry, Stromile Swift, Rafer Alston, Keith Bogans, Rod Strickland, Clarence Weatherspoon, Vin Baker, Juwan Howard, Mike James, Bonzi Wells, Luther Head, etc. Oh, I forgot Bobby Sura for half a season.

We had David Wesley and Ryan Bowen starting in 05 and took the Mavs to 7 games.

I don't know what JVGs offense would do with this team since he prefers pick and rolls and star players, not a movement offense like this one with better talent throughout, but to say he was working with more talent is asinine. It was Tracy(half the time), Yao(half the time) and the rest.

im not sure what the franchise has in mind exactly, so its hard to make a judgment from an outsiders prospective. adelman is a good coach and it would be difficult to find someone of his caliber, but with old age your days become numbered. my guess is the rockets are on there way to contender ship status in 2-5 seasons.

we have some young talent and a couple of pieces that would be great to keep around once we get to that 133t lvl. i would like to see a coach who knows our players and the system, somebody from our current coaching staff possibly, hell maybe even adelman jr.

but most importantly IMO, id like someone whos got youth and will stay with the rockets for years to come.

Interesting set of owners we have here in Houston.

McNair - Treats Texans like an investment, making money is priority #1.

McLane - TreatED the Astros like a toy, tried to upgrade but with no real long term plan.

Alexander - Treats Rockets like a fan, rides the rollercoaster with all of us only he actually does have power to make changes.

That's the best news I've heard.

He lets Morey make the decisions and has a real drive for the Rockets to win a Championship.

Any team with Yao and McGrady on it is more talented than this one. I notice you left off Mutombo, who would help this team tremendously right now (and Battier, and Hayes, who were starters on this current team that is supposedly loaded with talent). That's really more explanation than is needed for something so obvious.

The only thing I meant is "with this much [offensive] talent." JVG's teams were more talented overall just by having McGrady and Yao alone. But his teams always seemed to be filled with one-way defensive guys. The current team seems to be a bit of the opposite.. a lot of guys are mostly offensive players.

I'm just intrigued by the idea of how our current team would respond to a defensive-minded coach like JVG. He liked to slow it down and depended on his defense + offense to be efficient to win games. How would he do with our current team?

I think you're right that they wouldn't score as many points, but would improve defensively. The question is, would that result in any more wins? It's not a given either way.. which is why I just say that I'm intrigued by the question.

I also forgot Lonny Baxter. And Adelman has had Yao and McGrady every year until now. While JVG had Deke and Shane one year. I honestly think noastagia is clogging your memory. We were always known as the overachievers.

I'd much rather him be like that than not give a **** like Drayton.

It's really hard to be wrong so many times with so few words. I'm impressed.

I suppose it's subjective, but on paper, the 2002 Kings were considered the better team at the time.

maybe its about the money. why pay a championship level coach when you are rebuilding? hire an up and coming coach for an up and coming team.

maybe les wants to beat adelman to the punch. adelman may choose to walk away from a rebuilding situation, and les may want to save face by making it look like it was his decision. that way the fans will think "its what was best for the team" rather than "they lost out."

just some guesses. i think adelman's reluctance to sign an extension is a sign that he is thinking of leaving. we might have to rap our heads around having a no name coach at the helm.

Sounds reasonable, except that you don't wait till you are a contender to hire a championship level coach. Elite coaches are like elite players. They don't come on demand. We were lucky JVG was available when Rudy was let go. We were luck Adelman was available when JVG was let go. Lucky the third time? I wouldn't bet on it. You grab or hold on to a good coach whenever you can, regardless of what phase of team building you are in because you don't know when is the next time you have a chance.

That's much better than Tracy (almost none of the time) and Yao (a quarter of the time). regardless of who the rest of the scrubs on the team are. JVG was a good coach but he is not on the level of PJ, Pop, and RA.
