I don't know how it would be awful or horrible or whatever word you said. It's just a bland nickname that two people in the whole world use. If you said it in public, no one would even know what you were talking about, let alone be offended. I'm going to agree with thinly-veiled "let's all call bud my nickname" thread. If you're having a moral crisis over this, maybe you should take a break from basketball for a while. Or stop smoking meth while you watch the games. Also, I feel that Bud's nickname (and any player's nickname), should depend on the last thing they did on court. In this fashion, Bud can be called "Bud" or "Air Bud" when he's balling, the simple "Chase" when he is underperforming, "Budingirl" when his man blows past him to score, and "You Pasty ***Hole" when he really frustrates me. It's part of the fun of being a sports fan.
Air Amish. Rare authentic footage of Bud in his early rim rocking years: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4g0jAGFqy54" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Cleverly disguised "go watch Extract" thread since that preface really contributed next to nothing to the moral issue of Bud's nickname. Is that you Mike Judge? Usually your premises are better.
Yeah, I saw Extract, and if you asked me to name that particular character, even under threat of torture, I would never be able to. It was a cute little way to spend 90 minutes, but completely forgettable otherwise. You could be right!
I like this. And no, it's really not thinly-veiled. I use hyperbole for the moral quandary part, and the reason it's up here is because of exactly what I said: we were talking about this at the Pacers game and wanted others opinions. Stop prescribing intent that isn't present. I have no reason to say otherwise. If I wanted to make you all call him something, I would have written this entirely differently.
I say we go with Chad. Even the media agree: http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2011/03/07/rockets-blast-kings-123-101/
 @ all the peeps giving nicknames... when that's not what the thread was intending to get... Anyway, in my opinion: YES. It is ****ty to give him this nickname you mentioned. Every time you're saying it, you're bringing up a negative memory of Chase.
I'm not sure what his nickname should be BUT I'm sick of hearing "Hey Bud, let's party". Lame as hell and they use it over and over again, just like Bill Worrell finding a different city in whatever State the Rockets are playing in and saying "He shot that from _______". Sick of it.
Seems like you're feeling guilty.. I might suggest going to church and confessing about this. I'll pray for you..
Hops... That dunk on whoever last night was off the meter. I love seeing him more agressive on offense. This needs to translate to D...
