Doc Rocket has NOT spoken on Mobley. This guy is no Popeye who repeats all substantiated rumors he hears. Who remembers "Lamar Odom is on the trading block". Doc's more of a substantiated fact type guy. Hell, Doc is still a junior member I think, showing his care to be closer to facts. So, if he knew this were not true. I think he'd be here saying that. Tell us who in the Rockets denied it to you Doc....or make your silence LOUDER!!! Also, for those like me who were questioning why Mobley would sign a 6-yr at average salary...well he can get a bonus equal to 25% of TOTAL compensation....thats $6m for those who haven't had their coffee yet. Still, far lower than Cato, but it is cool 1 million more each year.
what do you mean he can get a bonus? A week or 2 ago, Doc posted, said it's imperative we sign Mobley. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
the LOUD silence is he hasn't said anything today! Either he is outta town, or he has "No Comment". NIKE: bonuses are allowed in the CBA up to 25% of total compensation. The base is what is used in raise calculations and trade value, but it will count as salary towards the cap, spread out over the course of the contract. This is spelled out quite nicely in the FAQ.
I'm sure he's outta town, and he's gonna have a huge post for u as soon as he gets back....cause he always stops writing and then SUDDENLY brings up something huge.... By the way, how much more can Toronto offer him? is it a lot more?
I don't know why you think Doc (or for others, oeilpere) knows anything about Mobley. Maybe, he's not saying anything because he doesn't know anything. ------------------ Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
Well From what Ive seen Doc Rocket only responds in threads he started. SO if youre trying to pry him out of the darkness, it may be a futile attempt. ------------------ When I die I want to go peacefully like my grandfather. Not screaming like the passengers in the back seat!
I was wondering. With the Rockets denying that they have reached an agreement with Mobley, even though they may have, is it possible that they might have some deal in the works that would be messed up because of the CBA if they announced that they had reached an agreement. In other words, if they were working on a deal with say, Croshere for example, would announcing an agreement with Mobley interfere with the deal in any way? I guess that this is a question for the capologists. Is there any reason that anyone could see that the Rockets would deny an agreement even though one might have been reached other than causing Chicago to suddenly throw a lot of money at Mobley? ------------------
Hottoddie... one example could have Croshere feigning interest in Toronto's money, merely to ensure that Mobley resigned with the Rockets. ------------------ Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning? - Dubyah in Florence, SC. 01/11/2000
I'm not on vacation... There's really no need to tell something that's inevitable, is there?? 3 days...tick-tock, tick-tock... ( That was a fun reply!! ) The betterment and protection of the organization is all of our main concern, correct? ------------------ Wait, there is another...
I think we can all smile regarding CAT...actually I guarantee it!! There's your breaking news!!! ------------------ Wait, there is another...
Achebe, Are you implying that Croshere would then sign with the Rockets or are you being facitious(is that how you spell that?)? Croshere would be a nice addition to the team, especially if we can keep Mobley. Doc, Thanks for the post. Can you see any reason why they would not announce that an agreement had been reached if one had? ------------------
Well I guess now we all know the answer to your question HP. If what Doc is saying is true then I think everyone here will be very, very happy. ------------------ "Stay humble and hungry." - The Dream
I didn't realize how upsetting this was to me--that Mobley might leave. It's not that Dreamshake and I wouldn't have anything to argue about anymore. I really like Cuttino. I have no idea why I have so much of an affinity for him, but he's my favorite Rocket. I really hope you know what's up, Doc. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
Thanks Doc. I feel pretty certain of it now. Aldridge reported it, Fox Sports News reported it, MichaeL Murphy of the Chronicle reported it, and now Doc. I think we can all breathe now. Thanks so much Doc, and keep us informed. Heard any recent rumors about us and the exception? That excerpt from NBAtalk (it's on the front page) sounded very interesting... ------------------ http://www.saveourcuttino.com

thanks Doc...that was indeed a fun reply! I knew you silence was golden. Damn Clutch wouldn't tell me anything, which I also figured was great news. Pole, yeah usually I can wait patiently and not feed rumors, but not with Mobley. I've got 44 games to go to, and I need my Catnip.
In 3 days, we can let out a collective sigh, then start specualting on the mid range trade we all see looming once FA's are signed. thanks DOC!! ------------------
You guys ignore the best news in Doc Rocket's post... his signature... Wait, there is another... Hopefully it concerns my exchange w/ hottoddie. ------------------ Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning? - Dubyah in Florence, SC. 01/11/2000
