Griffin would only be a sophmore in college right now if he had stayed in. Wait two more years before you decide if he is developing like the Dream, the Dream was still at Houston at this stage of his development. Eddie will impress this season but I think he will break out next season and we are gonna be unstopable! And I think Ming has the most potential due to the fact that he is a one of a kind tallent. No matter how good Steve and Eddie are there will always be someone you could compare them to. If Ming lives up to his potential there will be none to compare him to. At this point Ming is all potential but ooooohhhhhh man that is some potential! The chills man the chills!!!!
Ill only say this.....watching Yao and Eddie grow together and mature, will be VERY exciting whether you or a Rockets fan or not
Okie, Griffin would be a junior this year if he'd stayed in school. But I agree with you. Easy I was at UofH during Akeems' junior year, I think you can make a case that Eddie's game is more advanced than Dream's was at 20. And the way he's played in preseason this year suggests Eddie would be kicking serious butt if he were still at Seton Hall. Dream was such a warrior that I'd give him the rebounding and shot-blocking, but Eddie's overall man defense may be better (Hakeem gambled too much even his first NBA season) his outside shot and ball-handling is superior to Dream at that age. Post moves/strength I think is closer than some might think, but I'd give the edge to Dream because he lived inside and because he was so fierce. It's interesting to think what Dream may have been able to do in the NBA at 20, but there were very good centers all over the league then and in that era I don't think he even would get much PT.
Controversial statement, but I agree. Dream was bigger, stronger and more athletic, but, as you point out, EG has skills that Akeem did not. I am not saying that EG is better or that he will be better than Dream, but just the fact that you can make the argument that EG is better than Dream at the same age is pretty remarkable, IMO.
gotto go for yao as having the greatest upside of the 3. anything eddie can be yao has the potentil to be better bacause of his hieght.
You have to admit that Eddie "The Silent Assassin" fits pretty well. A lot of the time people don't even see his blocks coming, and I bet that he will be even scarier when people are worried about Yao Ming and forget about him. Timing, we are talking about potential here. Francis has to develop his bball IQ, Eddie has to add muscle without losing quickness, and Yao has to remain injury free. But since you mentioned it, yes I do believe that we have the potential to be championship contenders for 7-10 years. Near the end of that, we will probably have to replace Steve and Cuttino, but until then I believe that we are set.
