Paul is not so much a risk, but the reason that none of us want Roy is because it's not even a risk. The man has shot knees and is totally and unquestionably done. We're talking career over in two to three years while collecting superstar level paychecks done.

Dude do you even know what "colossal risk" means? I swear most of the idiotic posters here talk about high risk high reward scenarios but all they do is look at the reward side

Collosal risk means what? Close to zero percent chance of it happening? So let's trade for Roy on the 3% chance he'll be healthy again next season? Meanwhile we're guaranteed to be paying him superstar money for the next 5 years? The backup plan of screwing up and collecting top 5 picks doesn't even make sense, as we can do that without trading for Roy's contract. More importantly, talking about tanking and collecting top 5 draft picks is easy to say but hard to actually watch through. I'm sure 99% of the so-called fans on this board who advocate tanking will leave and watch other teams if the Rockets did indeed sell everything and started losing games by double digits left and right.

If it was a Brandon Roy with 2 healthy knees, then yes, yes yes and yes.

But seeing as Brandon Roy has no knees left, no.

My guess / hope is that Houston packages, for example, draft picks, JH, TW, some of the off-shore Rockets, and / or that new C from Memphis to:

    (1) move up in the draft; or

    (2) for a premier player on a team looking to be on the right side of the new CBA
