Apparently the Dallas Cowboys are going to start Chad Hutchinson over Quincy Carter this week against Seattle.

Even though I have my doubts as to how much Chad Hutchison will be an answer to all the Cowboy's problems, I have to agree with this deal. I wonder if the Cowboys could look into converting Carter into something other than a QB? It seems to have worked for that one Pittsburgh receiver, Randel El. From what I hear about him here in Dallas, Carter is reportedly athletic enough to play a different position.

Yeah, they've needed a new tackling dummy ever since Ryan Leaf left. ;)

It took them until NOW to figure out that Quincy Carter sucks?

Man, first Mike Martz takes six weeks to figure out that Marshall Faulk is the key to the Rams success, now this....

I take it that "quick decision making skills" isn't a pre-requisite for being an NFL head coach? Let's hope that no kids dart out in front of these guys as they're driving down the street...

I think they would like to see how Quincy would improve considering he didn't play all 16 games last season. (I want to say he played like 10.) So, he was still like a rookie. And he did improve. He wasn't great but he did ok. There are other QBs who are worse. That said, some throws by QC have looked VERY familar to the ones from last year.

Also, from what I've seen Chad seemed kind of rusty. He probably just worked off the rust and feels ready to go. I have no idea what he's like because I don't think he's played any since preseason.

As for QC playing another position, I have no idea if he can. I don't know if he can catch, but I guess if he could, he would be an ok WR. Maybe he could help out the CB's as well. Also, I think he was on a kickoff one play, so maybe special teams is his calling. To tell you the truth, I have no idea what his role will be if he is not QB.

    I'd say it's about time.

Carter never would have made the team if Jones hadn't personally selected him in the draft trying to find the next great cowboys QB. The cowboys problem is Jones, but since he's not going anywhere, benching Carter is a step in the right direction.

Quincy could be a good QB...if he wasn't so stupid.

Now, we get to go with a major league baseball player.

The future is bright. Indeed.

He wasnt much of a Major League Baseball player. He pitched in very few games for the Cardinals and had an extremely high ERA. I seem to remember him being very wild.

Hutchison is a better QB then Quincy, and will the Cowboys offense will be a lot better off.

Chad can make throws that Spaghetti arm can't.

From the looks of Quincy, I bet the Cowboys and coaching staff never thought to run some practice plays flushing the QB out of the pocket and having him throw on the run. I swear....those throws by Quincy were absolutely horrible. He had a pass last week for a pick where he threw it right to the other team's player who was a few feet in front of him.

At the very least, if he can't pass on the run, then he should know by now he had no business even throwing those passes. I loved how he tried to explain it all away after the game. Something like..."all the great players have a bad game like this...yada yada yada". Yeah, but all the great players don't have bad games practically every damn game, either.

I think he still has a shot. He needs to mature some more. It might help him to get a perspective from the bench and get some playing time off the bench. The Cowboys offensive line didn't exactly help Quincy. But, he can't play for squat when he is flushed out of the pocket or has to run. I hate it when he runs because he is like a scared duck out there...only looking for a place to duck and slide. How about showing a little more confidence out there when you run and going for it like the other QBs? Shiyat, Warren Moon could teach you a thing or two about running. Maybe we need a new QB coach?

oh hell yeah, the quest for a top 5 pick begins now.

Hutchinson will probably suck too, or be very mediocre, forcing them to draft a qb(if a good one is available).

First its the qb, then its the coach, how long til its the gm?

That's the question we all want answered, how long until the GM is fired?

I don't see how Chad is going to be any better than Quincy Carter. Is Chad going to make the o-line better? No. Is Chad going to make Emmitt younger? No. Is Chad going to make Robert Thomas a better blocker? HELL NO!

The only thing Chad is going to do is get himself killed. He has ZERO pocket pressence. What good is having a cannon arm if that arm is being ripped out of it's socket every other down? It's been a long season so far, and unfortunately it's about to get longer.

How long will Chad be given before he's replaced with Chris Simms after he's drafted by Jerry?

Man, I somehow forgot how FREAKIN BAD Robert Thomas is at blocking. You'd think someone that big could at least block decently, but just about every guy he's supposed to block gets by with ease. Man he sucks.

Good points. I don't really expect Chad to do much as well. I'm hoping that he got that rust off in practice, but I doubt it. I just hope that if we do lose a lot of games, which is almost a certainty, we can get a good QB next year. I'm tired of having terrible QB's. Our D is ok, though could use some help and CB, our WR's are ok, our line and sucks but we could hopefully solve that through free agency or something, our FB may be that dude whos out for the year who CAN block from what I heard, and maybe Hambrick could take Emmitt's spot. However, we are bad bad bad at QB.

I don't know why I just analyzed the team cause I kind of suck at that. I'm waiting for an expert to say we do need WR's, HB's, CB's and whatever more than a QB.

I think they should've given Woodrow Dantzler a chance at QB instead of making him a RB. He couldn't have done any worse than anybody else on the roster.

They should draft Simms or Kingsbury....BWAHAHAHAHA! Seriously, though, this draft is deep at QB, and the Cowboys better take someone like Carson Palmer out of USC. Quincy's a bum, and Hutchinson is doomed to fail.

If Dallas did that and he got to start, want to do a bet on whether or not they'd have a winning season? That would be one team I would seriously put money on to make the playoffs.

To think that Carson Palmer has shown more than Chris is nothing short of a complete joke. Palmer was supposed to have similar talent to Chris out of high school, but when he wins 10 games in a season let me know, and we can get back to it.

From everything I've been hearing Simms is projected as a late first round pick. That means that Jerry is going to take him with a top 10 pick.

Since Chad needs about 15 games to prove himself that also means that Chad will benched after about 5 games into next season, and Simms will be made the starter. Basically what I'm saying is that 5 games into next year we will be no better off then we were 5 games into the season last year.

Jerry Jones is quickly turning a once Great Franchise into Cincinnati South.
