    Long and thoughtful article by Noah Millman on how to build the right incentives to improve the shcools and the challenges to be faced. Definitely worth a read for anyone who is interested in thinking about and discussing school reform.

    Thought I'd share since it's much more useful than the "OMG the teachers union thugs are keeping molesters in the classrooms and keeping our childrend down!!! Get rid of them and we get great dreams!" rants we see here sometimes.

    will definitely read, but, TBF, there are rants that express the opposite.

    and the discussion is not about teachers, or great teachers, or greatly compensating great teachers (which we should be doing).

    it's about unsustainable union contracts that inhibit the above.

    big difference.

    What do you guys think of the fact that most high-level education advisors to the President, including the Secretary of Education and his highest-level cronies, have no teaching experience at all in their resume?
