Reports of Al Thornton being cut by the Wizards, going to Golden State http://thenickelblock.com/?p=6239&utm_source=wordtwit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=wordtwit
Thornton fits in well with GSW's system. He's explosive in the open floor: <iframe title="YouTube video player" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/XuMKby671iY" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" width="480"></iframe>
I don't what to think about these moves in the last few days. I mean, teams have cut respectable players like Corey Brewer and Al Thornton.
With all of these contenders going after Corey Brewer why would Thornton not want to go to a playoff team? I guess so Clutchfans won't call him a ring chaser:grin:
yeah if you go to a bad team you are selfish and want to inflate your numbers, if you go to a contender you are trying to gravy train a ring.
Thornton sucks. He's an offensive-minded player that just so happens to be not very good on offense. He doesn't rebound well, doesn't defend well and just overall refuses to utilize his athleticism. Those comparing him to Corey Brewer are way off base. At least Brewer is a solid one-on-one defender that has the potential to latch onto a contender and be a Thabo Sefolosha clone. Thornton, though? No way.
No fault to Thornton at all. He wants to go to the best team he could start on, and if that happens to be a non-playoff team then so be it.
