    disagree, i would have been more nervous about him singing with the Heat. The Heat were lacking a rebounding presence and he could have filled that hole. Murphy just replaces Perkins.

    However, I would say, if you are the Lakers or the Magic and you made no moves at the deadline, you're going to regret it come playoffs.

    Improper analysis proves point wrong. Look again: Murphy to Boston just replaces Perkins. True. Murphy to Miami fills glaring void. Who's better?

    Magic made their trade earlier in the season. They went from good to garbage with the best center in the league. I know this sounds biased but if Morey had a talented center like that I can't imagine he wouldn't surround him with better talent.

    The Lakers couldn't really make any significant trades, Artest is old and struggling, Bynum is constantly hurt. No real trading assets.
