Yea, there isn't too much red with the yellow so it's not so bad. Or we could change the red and yellow.
black uni Since we are posting the black uniform idea again I thought I’d throw this in. Don't kill me, I made this years ago. At least I added the shattered leg.
So the league doesn't want black jerseys -- just make this one a really dark, shiny blue instead of black.
Here's another shot going a different direction. Trying to keep it relatively graphical simple so it can read from a distance while following the Modern style of the classic Rockets logo.
i don't think we should go back to the yellow and red. That era ended, move on. Currently, without the circle, the R looks just lost. Our uniform right now doesn't look bad---the logo just looks empty. The uniform look better than the previous shiny disaster but still the colors could be more flat and and the red could be deeper. You have to remember that on tv, colors look a lot different, especially on lcd tv screens. So, even if the league approved the black and red jersey, unless its toned down like the portland ones (btw those look terrible imo) they would look like neon stripes on tv...
That's what I'm trying to get at. The logo shouldn't be an identity for a specific era, rather it should the logo should represent the team and franchise as a whole. You see a logo, you should think Houston Rockets. Not "this logo was when we won the ship"
Like it particularly the font. One suggestion I have is making the red crescents a brighter red, scarlet rather than maroon, so the text reads better.
I actually tried your idea at first. But the gothic style of the new Rockets logo does not mesh well with the retro logo at all.
Kudos to those trying to modernize the 94-95 logo. The pistons/celtics/lakers got it right. They modernized a classic, but didn't abandon it completely. The pajamas were a mistake, the bloody R was progress, but now that era is over, time to start anew with a nod to the best logo/color combo ever.
