IMO, Casino is the closest thing to a sequel to Goodfellas as you're going to get.

Taxi Driver is finally coming to Blu-Ray, release date April 5. $13 pre-order at Amazon.

To mirror: "You talkin' to me?"
Essential, next line: "'Cause I'm the only one here..."

The greatest depiction of loneliness/modern alienation in cinema.

So great it led to an assassination attempt on the actual president of the United States. (Can't say that for Meet the Fockers.)

If you're looking for his later stuff, it's hard to top Casino and Heat. Heat is the first time he was ever on-screen with Al Pacino as well. His early stuff, well, the guy was one of the top actors of the 70s, which may be one of the best eras of film, ever. Take your pick.

I wonder if this movie would be allowed to be made today? With all of the Columbines, and school shootings would production companies stay away?

To make your Goodfellas experience complete, go find the episode of NBC's Community entitled "Contemporary American Poultry".

I'm not asking you to find it for me, but could you point me in the direction of where I would go to find it? I don't do much streaming. Thanks!

That's a pretty good deal for $13, although I usually try to stick to $10 for Blu-Ray. I would go ahead and pre-order it, but I think I'll probably be wanting to see it before then. Thanks for the heads up.

That is why I believe all the great movies, especially in Hollywood came out in the 70's.... Look at all the actors filmography and anything they did in the 70's was freaking Golden...
The 70's you had genres like Blaxploitation, Horror, and Kung Fu..
Movies like Dolemite, Shaft, Foxy Brown, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Enter The Dragon, King Boxer just to name a few that were cult films that had a huge following and beyond...

Ok, just realized you already watched Goodfellas. Casino is a really great flick that is underrated IMO. Watch it soon.

Yeah, had I known I was going to watch Goodfellas, I would have left it off the list, but I had trouble finding the one I was hoping to watch, so I figured I'd get what most people seem to say is the best one on the list. It looks like Taxi Driver is next, followed by Casino. I'll probably just order them so I can be sure I'm able to get them.

Looks like it's going to be Taxi Driver, Casino, and either Raging Bull or The Untouchables, which are tied right now. Hopefully we get a couple more votes to break the tie, otherwise I'll have to get both! I suppose that couldn't be such a bad thing though.

    This.

Not many here have probably seen this, but is ABSOLUTELY the funniest movie DeNiro has ever been in including Meet the Parents, Analyze this, etc.

    Great Buddy film....
