JLB, thanks for the info. That would explain why my signal is good when so many others are bad..TW just upgraded all the lines out here, and I have new lines runnin thruout my house..I wanted optimal speed on my high sped line so I made sure they were all good... Which TCI were you with? We used to have them in Baytown, but they sucked so bad I got a dish..used it for about 5 years or so..trashed it because of the constant rainfades..and I wanted high speed internet and TW got it to me before DSL was available..
i watched the game last night with a 20 dollar antenna and it looked just fine. the audio was occasionally robotic sounding but nothing that bothered me. it would be easier (for channel surfing during commercials) if they moved 51 to directv, however i don't think the picture would be improved too much if at all. next move: rocket's hdtv style.
I used to work out in Katy with TCI. Mason and Kingsland was the office I worked out of. Bottom line is when you pay for a service like TimeWarner cable you should expect that all of your channles look good. JLB
I use an indoor amplified antenna to get 51 and i get great reception. I think the key is, the amplification doo hickey. Seems to serve its purpose.
It sounded to me like they had some audio feed problems during the game. It wasn't 51, though, because their regular programming prior to the Rockets assuming control was fine. It sounded like the Rockets' broadcast was in mono for some reason. Overall, the picture was fine for me and I have TWC. They still haven't gotten the Fox SSW deal worked out yet. Could come down to the wire.
so JLB, A TWC customer having a converter box or not means nothing. If we are having a problem, we are supposed to call our cable guy? How do I solve this problem I have unbearable reception. This is the only channel with problems. This sux. It is rolling and superimposing another signal on it.
Jeff, do I understand correctly. Ch. 51 will show only home games and not the away games. If this deal with Fox SSW is not done, we will not be able to see away games? By the way, I have TWC with converter and have no problems seeing the games on Ch. 51.
