Interview just before the game and his highlights from his Rockets debut... http://rockets.clutchfans.net/1471/goran-dragic-houston-rockets-debut/ Was planning on asking him this, MourningWood -- it was asked before I spoke with him (it's in the video).
Thought Dragic looked pretty good speed wise with the ball last night and I can see how the added length on the perimeter will be good. Thought he was a little impatient though.
He made a good point about the personnel changes in PHX. Bringing guys in like Gortat, Peitrus and VC did shake up the Suns for a while and Gentry was constantly messing with the rotations until he found something he liked.
Did you guys notice during his fast breaks he looks only at the ball all the way to the hoop, head down on the floor? He's pretty fast though.
His top teeth look fake, just an observation. I liked what I saw out of him. Had a chick over last night and she was a bit frightened by how pumped I got watching Chase do his thing and "the dragon" in his limited action.
With everyone posting all of these "Goran Dragic highlight" videos for the past couple of days, the one thing I've really noticed (besides his tremendous hustle) is that every single time Dragic made a good play, the first person to jump off the bench and start cheering for him was Steve Nash. I think that's a tremendous testament to what type of team player and professional Nash is, and I think someone like that (along with coach Alvin Gentry) can really help AB's game. Anyways, I really love the kid's hustle. He goes hard every second he's on the floor and he brings great intensity on the defensive end... something the Rockets really need out of a backup PG. He does play a little out of control at times, but that could have been due to him being excited and overzealous making his debut with his new team. As far as "looking down at the ball" on the fast break... he only did that on the one fast break because he kept losing control of it. On the other two he looked fine.
impressed with his intensity on defense. i think its ok that he was a bit too aggressive, ill take that over guys giving up stupid fouls because they dont rotate quick enough.
Kind of like Clyde. Not that I'm comparing talent, just that Clyde also dribbled with his head down. Hoping he has a good game tonight against CP3.
It was funny that his debut for the Rockets was against a team with Vujacic on it. For some reason, these two hate each other. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...t-Slovenian-Feud-has-escalated?urn=nba-244726 Here's the video: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7MK5c2QdjvU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The PG spot seems to be the hardest position to come in cold, and I thought he looked okay for his first game. He gambled a bit too much on defense, but that might have been because he didn't know the defensive scheme. With Dragic and Williams in there, the fast break is going to be an important weapon for the second unit.
Much appreciated, Clutch. I'm a big fan of the interviews you've shared in the GARM over the last couple of months (Stoudemire, Melo, Brooks, Dragic), and look forward to many more down the road.
lol you noticed that too, they are if you look at his teeth a year ago, they were crooked..he got a new set of teeth..looks good tho
I noticed that it took Deron Williams about 10 seconds from the time Dragic checked in the game to blow by him for an EASY layup...
