There seems to be alot more seats available for purchase this year. I bought tickets to sixers game on Dec 7 and there were a bunch of available seats. I also got ahold of 4 seats 2 rows back from the visitors bench for the wizards game on November 22. I hope I do not get kicked out for screaming at the wizards players! I will feel like a little school kid sitting that close to the action Last year I tried to by tickets and there was only crap seats available and the stadium was always empty. That makes me sick
b/c there are not many people yet that really give a **** about this team until reslts are seen in the way of W's. I went to a few several games last year and have the resources to go this year, but I am taking a wait and see approach. Frankly, in my mind, it would be a waste of money to go until they prove to be competitive for 20 or so games. Until then, I am perfectly content with watching from my living room. Just my opinion as to "why"
So you are a band wagon fan Most people would give there left nut to go to a game wining or losing! That is called team support. It's just like the texans game Partying at those games is a blast While you are there and half of the club seats are empty and the game is sold out That is just plain sh*ty! Yea it is fun watching from home but when you can go in person and scream and party with thousands of people nothing can compare!
No, I would say I have better things to do with my money. I went to over 10 games last year. I was not pleased with the product (injuries or not). What I mean by product is the style of play and the play itself. I found myself enjoying what the other teams were doing as far as their play. Like I said. I did that last year and did not come away with a very satisfied feeling. It was boring basketball and was not worth the money spent. Funny you should mention that. I have club seats. The people are there but many of them (not myself) are enjoying the perks of the Club level (the bars and the seating). I do go to the bar, but am at my seat while the game is on. I DO AGREE THOUGH.. EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE PERKS, I THINK ITS RATHER FOOLISH TO GO TO THE GAME AND NOT BE IN YOUR SEAT. I sit in 328, so I have a great view of the Bull Pen and went down there for the last game. It is fun and I agree, that makes the experience better when you are around those who are as passionate as I am, but I did not know that would be the case when the seats were purchased. a) Not much to scream and party about b) Not "thousands of people" there to celebrate with. Les has over priced his poor product. In closing. They have made way too many marketing mistakes, and are just not that enjoyable at this time. The game production (what is done outside of the play) is POOR. Hope it changes as I have enjoyed most of my time at the games in the past (win or lose), but at this time I will have to pass.
I agree with you. I only hope when they start winning that all of the damn Business's don't buy all of the damn seats and give them as perks because atleast 50% of the fans that get those seats don's even like the rockets and there went out home court advantage.. Hopefully when the new arena opens he will lower the prices since he will have all of those clubs and suites!
It is kinda sad that the attendance isn't up much, since Yao is here. Hopefully when the new arena is ready we will sell out most of our games (this is my 1400th post!).
Which one's Phily game $29.95 a piece Last year 59.00 a piece Only 2 sections away from the phily tickets Wizards game I have no Idea my neighbor has a rich friend with season tickets and he got them from him
One of my very first posts was about this subject, but, either nobody wanted to answer me, or nobody knows why we can't buy great seats when the arena is always empty. It's still a big mystery to me. I know the seats are available, but we can't buy them...almost like they are saving them for other people I tried for about 2 hours last night trying to buy some good midcourt, lower level seats, but none were available...to ANY game! Whats up with that shiat?
Here are some reasons. Ticket brokers, and business that buy season tickets to give to customers, even though they just end up collecting dust.
Basically all lower-bowl, mid-court tickets are sold to season ticket holders. And this makes good business sense, for obvious reasons... and it's not too hard to imagine Houston can find 7-8,000 takers (usually in the upper-middle income class) for those tickets. Of course, those might not be the most ardent fans... and the hard-core folks are instead relegated to the corners. But that's really the way these things work out. My only recommendation would be finding a few buddies and going in on a couple of season tickets together. A typical formula is to do a draft system, where you and your friends take turns claiming games from the full season line-up. (42 home-games? Find 3 friends, each of you can go to 10 games each...)
there's been really sparse attendance so far this pre-season. i can't remember but was it similar last year, worse, or better? i mean there's 3 or 4 times the rocket's buzz this year but seemingly less attendees. i hope atleast there's a decent crowd for opening night.
Not too many people show up for preseason games because they don't mean anything but cost as much as a real game. That owners still get away with that is ridiculous. However, having been to a few preseaon games, it's not a bad deal to get a nosebleed ticket and easily move down behind the bench to get a closer look. Anyway, the next preseason game's attendance will be interesting because it might be Yao's 1st game. The 1st home game better be a sellout.
This years preseason attendance is worse then last year, by a few thousand I think. I went to two preseason games last year and there were more people for sure, they didnt even have 8,000 against Orlando. I really hope the first game against Toronto sells out, but there are still alot of tickets left. The only games to sell out so far are the Wizards and the first Lakers game in January.
I can tell you why a lot of people (myself included) don't go to games. It has gotten ludicrous what tickets cost. My wife would divorce me if I spent that much on basketball tix. I have friends looking to come in from LA to see the Rox play the Nets on March 8. One of them grew up in NJ, but is a huge Ming fan. So I wanted to see if we could get good seats. 4 tickets...lower prom...row P...between halfcourt and the free throw line (so off of midcourt) = OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!!! A cool grand for one evening out for 4???? And that doesn't include dinner and concessions. Screw that!!!! Myself and most people I know have been priced out of pro basketball. It's frustrating because I love the Rox.
You see, that just makes no sense. Those tickets in the section that you speek of are $112, if you do the math, that is $448. Now granted, those are VERY high, but only about half as much as you think they are. As for the other ticket prices, dude, I pay $13 a game, and I have good seats. I dont see how it can get much cheaper then that. And truthfully, the Rockets wont tell you this, but for the games where there is alot of empty seats, it is no problem to move from the cheap seats to good seats.
I've tried buying cheap seats and moving down but its a real hassle and disturbance to the real owners of the seats. It's kind of embarrassing to have to move in the middle of the game when you've been sitting there for a long time and everyone is looking at you. I have sat very close at Texans games, like the first 7 rows, at the 20 yard line, and its freaking incredible. Also costs an arm and a leg.
