I've lived in three of the top ten (Sydney, Perth and Auckland). If they are rated so highly it makes me wonder how bad some cities must be.
I lived in Vancouver for the most of my life. I never realized how perfect it is until I went to other places in the world. Seriously, if you have money go live there, got anything you need there, weather, nature, most friendly people ever, everything. (except for in the winter when it rains all day long, but it never gets too cold). The cost of living is pretty high though, that is one downside. I think the only place I say impressed me as a city was Tokyo, that's probably the only place i would choose to live instead of Vancouver.
Oh what the hell, I just saw Toronto as No.4 I like everything about it I guess, it's a busier more populated version of Vancouver. But I fricken hate the cold!!
Norway's definitely the place to be -- absolutely beautiful landscape littered with fjords, mountains, and islands, stunning women, very eco-friendly/pollution's almost non-existent, the happiest population in the world according to Forbes, rich history, 2nd highest GDP per-capita and second wealthiest country (monetary value) in the world.
I love Vancouver. It's my favorite city in all of North America. One day, hopefully I'll be able to make it my long term home.
Oh, lord yes. Absolutely stunning women. I had a great experience with identical Norwegian twins 40 years ago while in Europe. Tall, great figure(s), blonde, with green eyes. I can still picture them after all these years. And yes, Norway is also stunning, if cold during the winter.
If Melbourne and Sydney get 100's for some of those things I would to hate to live in a city that didn't. Who makes these lists? Didn't Sydney also just get voted one of the least affordable cities to live in?
Adelaide is good for 3 things... serial killers, weed and churches. I guess if you dig 2 out of 3 of those it's a good place! Actually is a nice place, except for the fear of being murdered.
I guess you never heard of SmeggySmeg. It's like saying Texas is not the best country in the world until you meet someone from Adelaide.
I think people from Adelaide don't care what you think. Just like Houstonians dismiss NY and LA and sidney or cindy...or is it sydney. i always mix that up and Melborne why do we have to add an unnecessary u. not like Adelaide. You can't take the "I" out of laid.
That list is ridiculous. How do you create rankings for cities without taking climate into account. Calgary (#5?) has about 5 months of winter per year - when it's not winter, yeah it's glorious. How about all those days where I had to put on full ski gear to go to school? Picture me at the bus stop - ski pants, ski gloves, balaclava, and goggles. Waiting for a bus in -30° with a 25 mph wind, because some punks broke the glass in the wind shelter. Toronto is even worse. Vancouver is at least temperate, but you don't see the sun for months at a time - no thanks. Did I mention the ridiculous cost of living because of all the rich HongKongese and the general lack of land? Now Houston - Houston is a great place to live. You can afford to live like a prince, and there is a good job market as well. Golf courses, food, entertainment, the arts - it's all accessible and affordable. It even has pretty easy access to good-to-great fishing in all directions. The only downside is that we don't have mountains and that we have a heat problem.
In all honesty, other than the fact that they're both in Canada, Toronto and Vancouver are nothing alike. That's almost like saying Chicago is a busier more populated version of Vancouver.
I agree 100%. It's funny when Americans think Vancouver and Seattle are pretty much the same city, only on different sides of the border. IMO, Vancouver is far superior than Seattle in just about every possible way. If Vancouver were in the US, I bet it's population would be at least 5x what it is now.
