"Are they happy with the $5 billion they already made off me..." Sure, the show is a juggernaut. But I don't think it's necessarily because of Sheen. Or Cryer. Or the "1/2 man".

The jokes have the subtlety and wit of a Jay Leno monologue, and he was popular, so I guess the formula works. And when a show or movie becomes popular it's very difficult for audiences to accept a different actor in a role so actors gain a lot of leverage, deserved or not.

I guess I'm just saying I wouldn't bite the hand that pays me $2 million a week to act as stiff as Keaneu Reeves on TV.

No one does days off better than him though. Party on, Charlie.

Living life on his terms or not, he's obviously an arrogant a-hole.

Wow, Sheen kind of reminds me of our own Fatty Fat b*stard -- except that Sheen is talented, good-looking, rich, well-spoken, and hangs out with hotties.

I think FFB bears some resemblance to Sheen...the chin, I think.

Sheen probably destroyed his chances to work with Hollywood big time people. Who wants to work with someone like that?

So you're saying FFB is a poor mans Charlie Sheen?

Well the main character on the show was based on Charlie Sheen's real life persona and his documented public indiscretions before the show served as the launching point for the comedy. Viewers initially were drawn into the show because they wanted to see the train wreck and most likely having Sheen onboard helped sell the show to the network. Lorre leveraged 2 1/2 Men into great time slots for Big Bang Theory and his other show

It's not like Sheen was just some hired hand, the show was constructed off him and he did much of the heavy lifting. Charlie isn't wrong, Lorre (and the network) will eventually make billions off his work.

The tragedy of this entire thing is that America endured 9 seasons of 2 1/2 Men (dunno why? maybe they were waiting for the show to finally be funny?) when all it took was a call from Abe Foxman to Les Moonves over "Haim" to get this **** off the air.

ABE FOXMAN WHERE WERE U SEASON 1??? THIS IS WHY THE TERRORISTS HATE US

Well about the time that the ADL and Harvey Levine at TMZ went to work on him, the fact that he's a good actor was scrubbed from people's minds. He was great in Platoon and Wall Street and funny in Hot Shots. But you're probably right that he's done in Hollywood.

I'm not so sure. I bet the majority of the upper echelon hollywood people have similar viewpoints ("I'm special, regular people are stupid") although they probably don't get coked up enough to say it. I think there's also a pretty big disconnect between writers (especially TV sitcom ones) and stars.

I know the creation of the show had Sheen in mind, but I really doubt people tuned in thinking "I can't wait see a fictionalized version of Sheen's life" or that the public were dying to see another Sheen vehicle. For a view into his hedonistic lifestyle, it's a very Disney version of it to say the least.

As for heavy lifting, by the prodcuers' accounts he shows up and works like a pro, which is great. But I think you're selling the writers and the rest of the staff short. If he also has a hand in writing and producing then I take it back.

I obviously don't get why so many people watch it in the first place so you could be totally right but that's my opposing guess.

To me the whole thing is a bit like the Leno chronicles a while back.

I know people watch the show......I just don't know why.

Yeah, but can Charlie Sheen give us the 411 on great places to eat in Houston? I think not.

While Charlie Sheen has long been known to coke it and ho it up his behavior hasn't dominated tabloids as much as it has recently. Consider the show has been on for many years yet we are getting a torrent of Charlie Sheen related material, this thread included, just in the past few months. Further it appears that his behavior has affected the ability to produce the show.

So yes his off camera behavior is very relevant to the producers of Two and Half Men.

I know. I'm sure even his FFB's mother must recognize the way these two guys are almost exactly the same.

Oh the wild and crazy antics guys like FFB and Sheen go through!!!

Is there something wrong with that when it comes to low brow entertainment?

"the sheen" has been ready to go back to work for weeks now. it is the producers who are holding things up and preventing all those people from getting back to work.

i also heard "the sheen" was paying a portion of the crew salaries while he was out.

    hatas gonna hate.
