Since Morey started using this word to describe trading chips, apparently every Rockets fan has to use it too. Enough is enough! Yes, I mad.
You can either get superstars or assets in this league. Considering the fact that the superstars didn't want to come here, that were available (outside of maybe Williams who had no choice, but we definitely could not have made a package as attractive as Nets), Rockets were left dead. Had Carmelo, Lebron, Bosh, Wade, Amare, pretty much ANYONE said they want to come here to sign an extension, the Rockets had plenty of ASSETS to facilitate a trade, but in this era, superstars dictate where they want to go, so nothing you can do.
The guy is an MIT grad. He is the Rockets GM and a smart one at that. There is nothing wrong with building assets. Assets - Something that is expected to provide future benefits to a business. When he lands a star you won't be mad. Just be patient. He is looking out for what's best for the Rockets.
Make no mistake, this thread is not about Morey (but I do have my...opinions...on him as well, believe you me), but rather about the douche bags who seem to think calling people anything the Rockets acquire "assets" make them automatically a Rockets executive. See this thread: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=201350 Everyone and their mom is using that word. Almost as annoying as Carl Herrera thread titles! Yes, I still mad.
