As a fan I was hoping we draft him. But if I was the owner, I would of drafted yao ($). If amare was on the rockets, alot more stars would of joined us. Now that yao is gone, we will be mediocre for years to come.

You might notice that we didn't trade for Melo. If we did, it would be on the hopes that the new collective bargaining agreement increased the chances of resigning him or adds some sort of franchise tag. It would have been very risky, but at least Melo has been relatively injury free.

Landry wasn't going to be commanding a max contract. Amare is having a great year on a team that is still likely to lose in the first round of the playoffs even after getting Melo. Certainly they will have a chance, but they will be heavy underdogs.

Imagine what fans would be saying if Amare had come here with no physical with his injury history and then been injured and out for the year? Then the same people who are saying we should have taken a chance, would be crying that the Rockets were idiots to trade for him with no physical knowing his injury history, and they would be right.

We built around Yao prior to him being injury prone. After he became injury prone, his value was low so they had little choice but to hope he would recover or move him for pennies on the dollar and risk that he comes back healthy for some other team. It didn't work out, but seeing how few stars have been on the market, it's hard to imagine we would have one now if we had traded an injured Yao Ming a year ago.

Dude get it through your thick head.....Amare did not want to be here and I even doubt throwing rediculous money at him would have helped either.
