Yao still looks much taller than this man? Is he really 7-3?

Yao's standing closer to the camera. It's the perspective.

Agree. Dropped the ball on this one! :p

Call me crazy but give me a potential Boston deal of Jermaine O'Neal + Erdan for Battier [+ filler or 2nd rd pick if needed]

I am a huge Shane fan, but we are not going anywhere and Lee and Bud might as well play more. At least we got a project (though one that will probably fail) and a draft pick.

We are gonna still be crap for 3 to 4 more yrs :mad: could have at least traded for 1 or 2 decent player shane & brooks to Boston would have been a much better trade

Daryl Morey on today's trade's ... via Jason Friedman twitter

"These moves position us better in the future. The big move that helps us now and in the future did not materialize but we feel like this positions us better in the future to make that move."

    Morey on Battier:
"A winner big time, on and off the court. Leadership, everything he brought to city and our team will be very hard to replace."

    Morey on AB:
"a big time player for us over past few years. my first draft pick & every year got better. Great person, losing him very difficult."

    Morey on Thabeet:
"Obviously we need a center on our team. Hasheem Thabeet is someone who has potential to develop into very significant defender a very significant center over time. Right now he’s not there. Right now, if he was there, we would not have been able to get him. Unfortunately, you cannot acquire 7-3 centers after they become good easily, if at all. So you need to take a chance on a guy who you think has a chance to contribute over time."

so lets say the memphis grizzlies didnt make the playoffs in 2013 ...does tht mean that the rockets dont get the pick? If that is true, then do we end up with nothing or does tht draft pick stay with us till the next time that they do make the playoffs

    Yeah, what I thought too

But then again, (this is from a Bima post) we don't really want 3 rookies next year. I mean it's not like we are going to keep them all, plus I don't think the draft will be that deep this year.

It's better to spread out the picks

If it's lottery protected in 2013, it means less protection in 2014(perhaps unprotected?)

    Doesn't really matter. It's an asset in 2013, 2014, or 2015.

Hate to see Battier go,but it's a sell high move. Battier is 32 now,his biggest attribute defense isn't going to be there long.
