Jesus Christ, two years away and it's STILL lotto protected? That plus Thabeet is barely better than nothing at all.

I don't know why everyone is crying for. Thabeet hardly played last year and this is his 2nd year playing which means this is really his rookie season. Bigs take time to develop and will eventually blossom or bottom out. Alot people on here must know nothing about basketball. I remember everyone calling Roy Hibbert, Darko Milicic and Andrew Bogut big time busts. They were horrible their 1st 3 years and look and them now..Sheesh yall are brutal. I think this was a great trade and potentially fills are biggest need at the 5. If it does not work out I hear we will get atleast a mid 1st Round Draft Pick for him. Sikma and Dream will give it their best shot to coach up Thabeet. So I'm hopeful.

Is it against the rules to waive an incoming player (Carroll)?

Anyway, I've seen Carroll maybe twice on the court and both times he made me laugh. He just runs around without stopping and being super aggressive without any positive impact. Looks like he tries to always hustle and give his all but just sucks.

lol, Dream is not a rockets coach. I get so tired of seeing h-town fans writing all over the place, "dream will work with so-and-so on the rockets."

He doesn't even live in houston most of the year. And the Rockets don't have him on retainer or something.

Maybe if that dude wasn't slapping him in the head so much he would have played better in Memphis?

It's depressing to think that we traded Rudy Gay for a couple years of Battier rental.

I'm guessing Hasheem wears 34 for Hakeem? Obviously, he can't do that here... Maybe if he turns out good, we can make him number 35?

I like that he's a legit 7 footer (7'3" and long arms) with sand in his pants, yet not overweight either. I hope he becomes a legit 5 in this league and stays healthy. He is young too, just turned 24 a few days ago

    You mean 5 years?

And for the 786th time, we were not going to pick Gay.

is Thabeet really that bad? Or was he just not discovering his potential in Memphis?

From the look of these highlights, he looks like he at least cares on defence. His shot blocking potential is a given, and I'm sure he could become a poor man's Mutumbo with enough guidance.

Yes. If you expect anything for him you are going to be sorely dissapointed. This guy is going to ride the pine, whenever he plays he is going to wrack up fouls at a Dorsey rate and then will be out of the league at the end of next year.

    Its a highlight tape.

Who were we going to pick if it weren't Gay then? Roy was already gone... and Gay was clearly the best talent out of the remaining picks.

We need to hire Mutumbo to come and work with Thabeet this offseason! Thabeet has the potential to be as good as Mutumbo was on the defensive end of the floor. Thabeet will develop just wait.

If Morey thinks he can do something with Thabeet like he did Lowry or any of the players he scouts, give him a chance.

Shane will be missed more than most realize. A real class act, the consumate pro, and does all the little things every team needs to be successful.

We traded the heart and soul of our team for a 7 foot 3 bust who doesn't even enjoy playing basketball.

Think about that. Think about it.
